The players are fitter and more athletic these days with seious amounts of muscle ratio, this makes them much more dangerous in the tackle. The nature of the hi tech boots and grippy surfaces we have these days also restrics leg movement/compensation on impact.

That Karl henry one at the weekend was shocking too... seriously looked like the opposing player (I forget who it was) had been hit by a car the way he went flying. No way was there any intention to play the ball.

After being inundated with well-wishes for Hatem Ben Arfa following the double-leg break he suffered against Manchester City on Sunday, the club is to pass on hundreds of messages from supporters to the French international.

 

Ben Arfa, who remains in hospital as he recovers from the successful operation he underwent on Monday, was stretchered off following a Nigel de Jong challenge and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

 

But he has been boosted by the support of the fans after United officials informed the player of the hundreds of get well messages and cards the club had received for him since Sunday.

 

He is set to leave hospital on Thursday and after being told of all the messages, he revealed how they were inspiring him in his efforts to return to action for The Magpies as soon as possible.
