Are we thinking he would replace Jonas in the team then? I know his delivery is questionable but for me him and Routledge are our only hope of any creative spark and getting the ball to them seems more of a problem. Whilst I agree this signing would be a boost for us, I'm not sure (if my understanding of the player is correct) if he would give us what we are missing.

Behind the striker.

Can he play there? I must admit I've heard about this guy for a few years since him and Benzema broke through at Lyon but I've not seen much of him so I don't really know where he plays.

Was just reading one of their fan site's report on the Caen game and they called him a 'joker du luxe' :scratchchin:

Can play central or out wide.

Hope so. If yestderdays game proved anything it was that despite the numbers we have there, we are still sadly lacking in the middle from an attacking pov!

He's good. He's part of that group of players that went through the french academy most of whom have played for France. The mind isn't always right, but that comes with these kinds of players. Will be the only player we have who can make something out of nothing. Creative, pacy, good balance and good dribble.

Newcastle United are hoping to secure a deal to take Hatem Ben Arfa on loan from Marseille this week. Chris Hughton, Newcastle's manager, believes the France international can add much‑needed creativity to his midfield but the move has been delayed by financial haggling.

Cash‑Strapped Marseille believe Newcastle should pay almost £1m to borrow Arfa for the season while the St James' Park club would prefer to contribute only half that amount.

The 23-year-old Arfa, who is of Tunisian descent, can operate either as an attacking, scheming, midfielder or as a left-winger. He is regarded as one of the best young talents in France but he has been criticised for lacking discipline.

Hughton's hopes of pipping Sunderland to Danny Welbeck were dashed when the young Manchester United striker agreed to go to the Stadium of Light on a season‑long loan.

For our best possible team we'd be looking to have all three of Jonas, Rout and Ben Arfa out on the pitch at the same time.

Aye with carroll up top and 2 cms sat behind them, problem is who in those cm spots for me

Out of smith nolan barton and guthrie i wouldnt trust any pair as a holding two

One new holder alonside guthrie would see me quite happy though for this season at least

After some youtube scouting this player excites me. Typical Newcastle to be jerking around with a loan when he for some reason wants to come here. 7,5m euros is hardly alot. Considering wigan are rejecting 12m pound bids for insomnia.

if he truly wants to come here and would cost that amount then it's a no brainer tbh, even from Ashleys perspective he'd have a decent chance of making a profit on him when we sell him on...

That strategy didn't work for Dennis Wise, what makes you think it'll work for you.. :scratchchin:

Didnt say it would. I just said he looks good. So you dont think it would be a good signing? Personally i think if we end up loaning him for a year someone else will snap him up if hes any good.

There's a clause to buy at the end of the loan, which means we get dibs on him.

he still has to sign for us though. After a scrappy relegation fight and possibly championship football im not sure he will be as eager to as he is now. I suspect he doesnt follow english football much at all and just wants to come here because its a well-known football club.

I wonder if dibs is wording they'll use.
