I don't know why we don't buy this Vaughan bloke?

He's been in more wheelchairs than Steven Hawking and he's only 21. If he's any good the blue dippers would've snapped him up.

Not sure what effect his injuries will have had on his pace, but prior to them he was certainly one of the quickest players in the prem. Certainly worth a punt.

Sears and Nouble at West Ham are two others we should look at.

Doubt very much Everton are going to be too keen to do business with us after what's happened with Gosling (admittedly not our fault).

When Vaughan broke on the scene he looked a prospect of epic proportions! Youngest ever Everton Scorer, Youngest Premier League Scorer, Pace, Power, Work Rate, Finishing Ability.

The next season he played the last I think it was 9 games of the season scoring 6 or 7 goals. Unfortunately this is where the other side to Vaughan quickly became apparent.... he got a bad injury!

During the close season Moyes signed Yakubu and said at the time that if Vaughan hadn't got injured he'd have started the season as 1st choice and Yakubu wouldn't have been signed... considering the lad was 17 i think that speaks very highly of him!

Unfortunately he's hardly played since then as a sucession of career threatening injuries have robbed him of some of the key years of his development. Now if you see him play he lacks pretty much any technical ability, runs around like a headless chicken and couldn't hit a barn door.

I think Moyes would quite happily move him on and the price knocking about seems to be around the £1m mark.

Its a tough one to call with the lad because he does have bags of talent, but he hasn't been fit for more than about 3 months in total in the last 4 years, so it's almost like his body just isn't built for footy. Its a damn shame like because he really did have all the tools as a 16-17 year old to make it in a big way.

Would I recommend the Toon buying him? No.

The lad needs to go out on loan or sign for a championship team and play there consistantly for a year or two at least without picking up any injuries to see if he can hack it. The problem is if a player misses the years 17-21 as a footballer then these are key years of development and you can really see it in the way he plays.

If he leaves i'll be sad but also I think its time to accept that he wont ever become the player he could have been. He'd be good for a championship club who dont mind taking a gamble on him, but I can't see him having a big impact at the toon.
