As long as he doesn't take over Woods' store card at the knocking shops he went to. Henry has been finished for years. It would be a bit like when you sign Patrick Kluivert if he went to a Premier League/La Liga/Serie A club.

Very true. And Henry wants to be the centre of attention which he will be for a short time in New York.

It really just boils down to money though. Even if a premier league club could offer the salary, the endorsements he gets will be massive. Picture up in Times Square, new Marlboro Man perhaps?

Definitely gone for the money. Not that I blame him. Maybe he'll take over a few of those endorsements Tiger Woods no longer has :jesuswept:

Apparently he's not on a massive basic wage.

Money and lifestyle anyway. No one's on a 'massive' (i.e. by European football standards) basic wage though, are they? Due to the salary cap. I assume that's still in place anyway.

Two players per team exempt, he will be on a mahoosive wage.

Right. Didn't know that. So they can pay them what they want? Still, I know Beckham's basic wage was supposed to be quite low but he's still making a bomb.

Alex already part covered this.

I think past his best is a relative term, he’s probably still able to do sub 11 sec 100m and still has 85-90% of his talent. It is generally just motivation. As soon as he’d won the European cup / chumps league, well that was it, he’d pretty much got the lot…. It’d certainly be it for me. That and the divorce may well have been messy. Not mine, but his.

Was an absolute beast of a player at his peak, I remember seeing him single-handedly demolish Reading in their first season in the prem. The way he moved on and off the ball was incredible.

Definitely lost his drive, he should've been alot better at Barca than he was. As someone said; he likes to be the main man, so he should in theory bang them in again in the MLS.
