2bias 3
From what i've seen of Perch he doesn't look to hot. I'm hoping he will improve.
Guest alex
Perch has played 3 games at a time when fitness is the main priority, he also looked pretty good against Deportivo apart from one rash challenge early on. It's mental how quickly players get written off these days. I don't think anyone's really writing him off as yet.
Phil 6
Give him until Christmas at least. Enrique was written off during his first period of games for the club, so best to be bit more circumspect before dismissing his value to the side. Only saw the Rangers game and he did look positionally suspect but a bit of leeway is needed. As a young player stepping up to a big club and the top flight, he is going to need a period to settle and some encouragement and support. Enrique always looked the part imo. It was clear he had great technique and pace from the first game I saw him in. He was written off by loads of fans by the end of September in his first season though. Not in any was suggesting that they are comparable players. I know you weren't. And the thing is, he was being written off by fans because he wasn't playing, rather than due to actual performances. Sounds a lot like Xisco.

Guest alex
It seems people have forgotten how appalling Saylor is at RB... Not sure what you're basing that on but while he's looked shaky there when he's played there as a one-off I think the only time he's looked like a decent PL defender is the spell when he played full-back after Xmas in the season we went down. I'm basing it on the fact that he can't play as a full back. Whenever I've watched him play there, he's been absolutely gash. It's not his fault like, he's a CB by trade and it shows. Two things - if you're saying he didn't have a good spell in the second half of the season I mentioned at full-back, we'll have to agree to differ. If you think he's a decent CB, ditto
Lackie92 1
What's the deal with Simpson? He's injured isn't he? When he comes back, does this mean Perch will be dropped?
OTF 7485
What's the deal with Simpson? He's injured isn't he? When he comes back, does this mean Perch will be dropped? If Perch keeps playing like he is then he'll probably be dropped before Simpson is back, otherwise yes I would say that Hughton would see Simpson as our first choice 'specialist' right-back. JawD 99
He had a rough game, but judging him at OT isn't really giving a fair shot. I'm not convinced by him yet, far from it. But Id certainly not write him off after playing last night.
Guest Tuco Ramirez
I judged him before Old Trafford. Leon Best, James Perch.....who's next???? Bring back Wise.

Guest Tuco Ramirez
Baptism of fire last night tbf, as JawD says. He could've played like Cafu last night and he'd still be shit. He's not a good footballer, he was a major part of why Forest lost 2-5 to Blackpool even. Forest fans thought he was wank what does that say? Fuckin Forest. Haven't seen enough of the kid tbh but as I said before (if he isn't good enough), what a false economy buying player like him, Simpson and Ryan Taylor. None of which appear to be PL-quality RBs. Someone like Darren Bent (who I rated at Spurs btw - not saying he's great or owt but a good PL goalscorer) even for £17m is miles better value than 4 or 5 like the ones mentioned above. nortoon 0
Every time ive seen him hes been awful. He loves to stand inside the box and let others do his defending at right back for him. I cant believe im saying this but id rather start with ryan taylor.

Papa Lazaru 0
What position is Perch? He doesn't look like a natural right back. Signed as a RB and played there for Forest last year as far as I know (played there against us anyway). He prefers RB and wants to establish himself there but plays CB, LB and midfield. The problem is he's likely to be not good enough in all those positions like Raylor which means the versatility is irrelivent. I'm not going to judge the lad on a game away to manu or indeed for a good part of the season, i just believe he won't be good enough, especially when Forest fans thought he wasn't good enough for them in the championship. And they didn't say that because they were bitter he'd left, they all wished the guy well here, but felt he wasn't up to it.
Barney 0
You'd think Hughton could pick a full-back too. Simpson and Perch are both gash.
