luvly_jubbly 0
Hello there, I am as you probably guessed a Rangers fan, and I have opened this thread so I can hopefully answer any questions you have regarding how to get too and from the ground where to drink (although your welcome everywhere except the enemies pubs ), and just general questions you may have for your journey up. BY CAR Leave the M 8 at Junction 23 and head towards Govan/Clyde Tunnel on the A8 Paisley Road West. You will come to the stadium on your right after about a mile and a half. The roads around Ibrox become pretty congested, so please allow some extra time for your journey. Street parking. BY TRAIN/UNDERGROUND The ground is at least a couple of miles away from Glasgow Central & Queens Street railway stations. Either jump in a taxi, or proceed down Argyll Street to the St Enoch Underground Station and take the Inner Circle underground train to the ground. Ibrox has its own underground station, only a few minutes walk away. The station though gets exceptionally busy after the games. Alternatively, there always seems to be a number of buses running by the ground which are heading back into the City Centre, If you get lost trying to get back to the city centre after the game ask a bear where Ibrox or Cessnock (Pronounced Sesnik) stations are they will direct you in the correct direction I advise you use Cessnock due to the fact the ques for the underground are pretty outrageous after the game people leave early its that bad Any other questions feel free to ask and I or any other bear on this board will try and assist you - I hope you enjoy your visit to Ibrox and Glasgow Edited July 4, 2010 by luvly_jubbly

I am curious and about to ask a question, thank you for your time. Q: What will your fans do if I whip out a Celtic top? Will they; A: Do nothing B: Do something Thank you xó The rivalry up here is pretty bad and the chances are someone will say/do something but the rest of the support will look at you as an attention seeking so and so... If you whip it out in the ground chances are you'll be escorted from the ground as was the Liverpool fan who did similar last season.

Ignore him mate, he's not from Gateshead, he's from Northern Ireland. What's the atmos like at friendlies? I'm going, but I'm going with a Rangers mate so I'll be in with your lot. Should I openly celebrate any of our many goals?

I'm going, but I'm going with a Rangers mate so I'll be in with your lot. Should I openly celebrate any of our many goals? The build up to the game in and around the pubs the atmosphere will be good there, its a hit and a miss at a friendly really. IF you's score which I dont think you's will , Well there was about three or four Liverpool fans last season that sat in the Copland with us and didn't get any hassle when they celebrated there goals. Although its up to you if you want to risk it as there's always the arseholes in every support.

The only pub I advise you to steer clear from is The Stadium Bar this pub is opposite the Ibrox underground the reason I ask you to steer clear of here is because its a Celtic slophouse which is sadly full of bears on matchdays due to its location being so good . manc-mag 1
Just as an aside, your recommendations needn't be informed by whether it's a Celtic or Rangers pub. We know you hate each other but that's irrelevant to us, as indeed it is to the rest of football.

Noelie 103
Only been to Glasgow once and that was in my seafaring days an' it had nowt to do with football. Two things I remember most was the pubs were shut doon on Sundays and the only place you could get a drink was in a hotel if you lied and said you were a travelling salesman. Me an' me mates said we were travellers in steel. The high-light was been hoyed oot of a dance hall on a Sat'duh neet cos the two lads I was with had too many Bell's & Mac's before we went in. I had a pre match drink in there around 1987ish....I was warned not to go to the top end of the bar as the Chelsea Headhunters were in with their chums from the Rangers ICF....the afternoon was rounded off nicely when I was offered some sort of literature to buy which gloryfied the deeds of a loyalist paramilitary group, for whom they also sent a plate round so we could offer more susbstantial financial support. Nice. A lot more recently I've been in the Horseshoe, its a great bar with many original Victorian fixtures and fittings...if you like your pubs traditional its a musr see as theres very few of its kind left in the whole of the UK. Deano 0
Iv just moved up to Glasgow 2 weeks ago (for the second time) and il be going fore sure. As for atmosphere Ibrox is shite man, personally i lean towards Celtic so although its a friendly i hope we tonk them. After all we are once again a PL side and they are, contrary to what any tim or hun will tell you....NO better than a championship side. Be a good day out for our boys whos travellin up tho.....i recommend hittin Ashton lane in the west end or Bath St in town on the night time. My eyes are hazel manc-mag ....My discharge book shows a voyage starting from London in September 1954 and docking in Glasgow in January 1955. It shows the ship was in Glasgow for 8 days before returning to home port London. I recall that voyage took in the Canary Islands, Brasil, Uruguay, and Argentina, and bonnie Scotland.
