Happy to play these now tbh rather than a latter round when they're already psychologically in the final. We're utterly pedestrian but they havent come on much since their opener either. Needs us to raise it and a bit of an off day for them. Rooney either comes good in this game or we're almost certainly out, and that'll do for me tbh. It forces the issue...it's not about the hype anymore, he either delivers or not. Yep. There are two scenarios: Rooney plays like he does for Man U at his best and scores, we win; Rooney plays like he has been playing and we draw/go out on penalties/lose.

 

God only knows what will happen but am not feeling like we are beaten yet.

It's just World War Two this World Cup now all over. The frogs surrendered, the yanks came through at the last minute, and we're gonna end up fighting the krauts on our own again.

 

I think Germany have played the best they can in this World Cup, and they've still only just sneaked through their group, the lad Ozil if you close him down he won't be too much of a threat, and in my opinion we have better quality than them, we will raise our game against better sides, I'm convinced we will do it. The bookies have us as favourites for it even the German bookies. My main worry is if you have Gerrard on the left, he always, always comes inside to the middle and leaves space on the left (this was better from him yesterday though), and you have the best kraut player (in my view) Lahm constantly bombing on, on their right. It's important he's not given any room to do things. I hope we don't go with a mindset of cancelling them out all over, because we have more than enough quality to win the game. People saying we need Rooney top notch to beat them, if Gerrard and that cunt Lampard give their standard weekly club performances I think we could still win.

 

Please no penalties though that would be too cruel, I hope pubs turn the telly off if it goes to pens. The way people are talking about Germany though, oh dear, Serbia should've beaten them 3-0, we have at least a 60% chance of getting through, then we'd have Argentina who are better than us going forward, but I tell you how shit they are at the back, Coloccini would improve them, all to play for and we're back in the game.

The thing that impressed me about the Germans last night was how patient they were. For a lot of the game they were in an extremely precarious position, and on their way out of the tournament, and for a young team they were so composed. Ice water in the veins tbh.

Only a matter of two weeks ago we were all going on about how we shouldn't fear the Germans, Argentines, French, Italians, etc and that our only fear was the Spanish and Brazilans. 13 days later, now look at us!

 

Sure, our form has been wayward but the Germans hasn't been the best. Until they scored last night they looked shaky as fuck and I've no doubt that if Ghana had scored first, the Krauts would have been as supressed as their African opponents were.

I don't know about this, Ghana had a lot of posession in neutral areas and did their usual silly little individual runs into blind alleys, it would have been more interesting if Serbia had been winning by a couple and that had fileterd to the Ghana bench.

Everything went through Gerrard lastnight, first time I've been impressed with him in a long time, he spurred that team on, you can tell after 70 mins he was totally fucked and we slowed right down, Rooney and Lampard continued to have shockers
