Dr Gloom 22176
After England's world cup and during the proper bit once we've went out I find it quite hard to be bothered about some haggis munchers tennis career. That said he should have a decent chance of doing very well this year.
Guest alex
I think Nadal's much more entertaining to watch (on grass and hardcourts anyway). Also, re: Murray, history suggests he needs to win one now as it's pretty rare for a first Grand Slam title to come older than he is now. I think in recent(-ish) years there haven't been many example. Rafter perhaps, off the top of my head.

Even going back a bit further though which is why I said recent-ish. You're right though, because you've got Federer dominating and then Nadal dominating in Paris so it makes it hard for anymore. Twas ever thus though - Sampras before them two (not on clay, obviously), etc. I just remember reading it - if you don't win your first by the age he is now then the game looks to be up. Edit: Goran would be a notable exception like. Edited June 30, 2010 by alex

Holden McGroin 6785
I'd like him to win it although Nadal and Federer will probably take him apart again.

I think they were tongue-in-cheek and even of they weren't, they're fair enough coming from a Sweaty.
Bombadil 0
agree about his style. boring as fuck. he's the typically modern tennis player - a baseline container that bores his opponent into a mistake with endless defensive shots rather than getting on the front foot. bit like nadal really, must be a nightmare to play against. This.
Guest alex
Federer's lost the first set. 4-1 up in the 2nd though.

Meenzer 15731
Tsonga put Murray out in the first round of the Australian a few years back. It'd be just like a Plucky Brit™ to go out now when he's got his best chance of winning it to date.

Must be a shock for Murray, mind, winning his first few matches comfortably with no media attention at all then suddenly having the nation's sporting hopes pinned on him. I bet he'd rather the England football team had actually done well for once.

Still a very dangerous player on his day though.
