I'll bet a lot of the dross in all divisions are looking at the World Cup and noting how teams of ...shall we say "limited ability"? have organisid themselves to throttle their elders & betters

I can see a lot of 5 man back lines next season :jester:

I'm all for having a boring defence. I would dread to see Ryan Nelsen and Gael Givet attempt to play like Messi in the penalty area. There is no obligation for a 'lesser' team to attempt to play pretty football against a superior team, and if defensive stuff works, and they get a result, then they're doing well. I agree it can be boring though.

To be honest, I think the PL has become stale and defensive in the last few years anyway. The problem in the PL is that you have quality players at peak fitness, everyone is so well organised and scared of getting beat..add these factors together and it's a horrible recipe for cancelling each other out.

Bet our defence won't be boring.

Amen to that. I am fairly sure that our defence will provide terrifying levels of excitement.

I expect nothing less that NUFC going from one of the best defences in English football to one of the worst in one short summer.
