AgentAxeman 199
What's the mpg like on the Mondeo? I'm after a big diesel when I pass my test but wasn't sure, I got told that bigger engined diesels weren't much better than petrols on economy? About 38/39 round the doors. maybe 44/45 on a run. Canny for the size of the car!
Renton 22436
I've currently got an Audi A3 sportsback 1.8 TFSI. Best car I have ever had, will do 0-62 in 7.4 seconds - all my other cars have been in double figures. Good fuel economy too. Previous to this I've had another A3, a couple of Polos, a Corolla, and a nifty Fiesta.

Nice motor and kept it until the lease ran out) 2010 - Honda Accord 2.2CTDi (Full of gadgets and fairly reliable. good mph over previous but has a few annoyances, esp with the hands free and bluetooth) After the lease ran out on the ML I started driving the Honda which was an unused co car. Not that keen on it and I've got my eye on a Volve C60 maybe back end of this year.

If so I can try and find out what happened to it for you Craig. A group of us were off to see Pop Will Eat Itself and as we were screaming along (I did say it was a V4, didn't I?) the motorway at 110 clicks it went BANG, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. A day and a tow later I found out it dropped a big end (something Kevin will never be able to do ). It took forever to get parts for it. maggiespaws 0
First car was an N-reg Rover 214SEi. Had the notorious K-Series engine which I managed to blow on about 58k Since then, I've had Puma 1.7 (yes, I know, girls car) BMW 316 iSE (company car) Lexus IS200 (probably the most fun car I've ever had, but damn did it drink petrol) BMW320d SE - which I recently got back from the Missus. Cost me a : Ford C-Max 1.6 TDCI Zetec though. Makes sense as Mrs Paws tends to ferry the kids about, so for the last couple of years I've mostly driven her car and she's used the BMW. Her car was also a Puma 1.7 (different to the one I had - almost identical though ironically). If I get this job in Manchester, I think I'll sell the BMW and we'll run one car. I can get the train so it's a pointless expense. Back on topic, the C-Max is fucking brilliant though. I've never understood why people have insisted on buying massive 4x4 or MPV's when they only have 1 or 2 kids, but now that I have kids; the C-Max makes so much more sense. Far more kid friendly. However, as I put the car in Mrs Paws name, I can legitimately say I've never owned an MPV I also bought it thinking that it would mean I can get myself something more fun next year, after we move house. Then my contract got pulled
WubbleUC 0
Passed my test (at the first attempt by the way ) last week. Should really have done it fucking ages ago, but nevermind. Now starts the hunt for a car. Thankfully a couple of my mates know thier stuff so I'm in good comapny when I actually have some money to go and buy one like. donaldstott 0
A couple of observations... Transits are faster than most normal cars and therefore rock. I know a number of people who have problems with Mercs and BMWs in the snow, which is a pretty poor show. But of course it doesn't snow in Germa .. Oh wait! I know a number of people who have problems with Mercs and BMWs in the snow, which is a pretty poor show. But of course it doesn't snow in Germa .. Oh wait! Having driven both a Lexus and a BMW, I can confirm they are rubbish/great fun in the snow. In fairness though, the problem is not down to the manufacturers (merc included) but down to the fact they are all rear wheel drive. RWD cars are all rubbish in the snow and poor in the wet, but handle excellently in the dry - generally much better than FWD cars. Mind you, I threw my BMW round a small r/b deep in snow near my sons nursery in Dec 09 and I swear we nearly got Charlotte early! Mrs Paws nearly shit herself! Thing is, you learn to drive RWD cars differently in the snow. You expect the arse end to slide out, so you use the momentum to get you round (as I did in the 2ft deep snow on this r/:jester:. You've got no chance from a standing start mind..... Didn't move mine for 8 days over Christmas/New Year this year as I live at the bottom of a valley.
