Is this the one that's opened where the French restaurant used to be? Walked past last week after leaving TGI Fridays

Have been several times and its very hit and miss!

 

First time I went it was superb, 2nd time it was dreadful and the 3rd was ok.

 

I'm very disappointed as after the 1st time I thought i'd found a real hidden gem, but dont think i'd go back tbh, way to inconsitent and better restaurants in town... bit of a shame really!

 

For the guy on about the old french restaurant (black door) thats now called The Canteen, pretty good food, nothing spectactular but its a lovely little place and has a nice atmosphere... its also pretty decent price wise so better than other places that sell the standard pub grub fare (destination etc).
