I quit exactly 5 weeks ago in Afghan which was hard enough when your paying $1 a pack or $2 a 50g pouch but I feel great now and my fitness has already improved. Can't say I don't fancy one now an again though.

It will be 2 years on October 1st since I gave up. And I haven't cheated once....not even one sly puff!!

But just lately I've really been fancying one again. Worked with a guy last night on a ten hour shift who was smoking baccy (cutters choice) the smell of it when he lit up was bloody lovely. MY mouth was watering :rip:

I can go without easily. My rule is only smoke on a match day.

Sunday will be my first game of the season...and my first tab in months.... I'm looking forward to the smoke more than the game.

First of all, you didn't stop at New Year. You stopped when you had your last cigarette.

After one year of no cigarettes at all you will not miss it.

But you may feel a bit nervous being near cigarettes, because you know that one smoke is enough to undo all the work.

The point is to forget why you enjoy smoking, and if you are going to have 'odd lapses' then that cannot be done.

Wrong! I have not smoked AT ALL for nearly 2 years now and there are times I still crave one!

And just to depress you all, my hubby gave up 15 years ago and STILL ocassionally really fancies one!

I've recently regressed back into it after 3 years of not smoking AT ALL.

Started (like a twat) during secondary school, and carried right on through til the smoking ban came in (where i promised my mrs i'd quit) which i did.

However like an idiot i started having the odd cheeky fag whilst i was out on the lash (no self control evidently) but felt no craving or worse for it.

This was not an issue until the club across the road started doing 50p drinks on weekends, our one or two nights out a month is now turning into 2 or 3 a week, crashing fags or picking up some rolling along the way.

Got the remainder of a pack of 10 from last night and im frigging gagging for a fag now - thing is, i feel like shite when i smoke sober, i hate the stuff and how crap it makes you feel, and really should not be wasting money on this.

Gotta ween meself off again but jeebus i feel like a tosser.

Lifes too short guys (and gals). Enjoy while you can!

In response to Nick, I quit for years but still went back to it. Dont regret it and I dont feel bad about it either. Mind, I only smoke about 4-5 tabs a day (more when I'm on the lash tho).

They heard summat on the newswire, summat bad and it scared them and they is scared and feel guilty and shit and although life IS short with almost no meaning to it....The smoking must stop...Cause they heard summat on the newswire and others said the zone was radiated but no one really knew what the zone was...But it was bad even worse than not spending the Carroll money...

I just "ran" one mile in over 9 minutes and I'm a trembling wreck seriously considering hari kari in preference to the lying on the couch in this much agony.

Maybe I won't have that tab on Sunday. ;):o

One of the lads from work has started smoking those electronic cigarettes.

Never realised you "charge" them with a USB stick.

A woman I work with has a fake cigarette that she smokes in the office, it actually smokes at the end and when she inhales she actually breathes out some sort of smoke. It's quite impressive tbh, a lot better than the joke cigarettes we got as kids to look cool.
