The Labour Leadership Campaign

Fair play to the Tories and friends in the press, they've absolutely convinced the Labour Party and Tory voters that there cannot be a party who stands up for the poor and working classes. As that tweet posted earlier says, if they don't stand for the people then what the fuck do they stand for?

trouble is the remains of the working class and the poor often agree with the Tories and there aren't enough of them to win any election - you win from the middle

same goes for the Tories - Hague, Duncan-Smith & Howard were all unelectable - same as Foot, Kinnock & Milliband

milliband was hardly much to the left of centre man - he backed the tory austerity bill

His failure to get elected was as much to do with his personality as his views. I.e. being a total fucking dweeb. And the press jumping all over his inability to eat a bacon sandwich and the patter about him being a puppet on the SNP if he got in. Policy was pretty thin on the ground from both of the main parties in the run-in.

This is the currently accepted word from on high but it is bollocks. You can win from anywhere with the right man and the right programme....But the society of the day has to be able to understand what is on offer.

It's a mix of   and :jesuswept:

The lols at her fucking dial when her questions were not going how she envisaged them, the :jesuswept: at the fact that those questions were asked in the first place by one of the many Tory friendly media.

Never realised there were so many John Birch society members writing in the UK.

Honestly man you'd think anything left was going throw everyone into an East Berlin bread queue rather than simply have a country support it's people fairly.

(Ugh I can't find the article now) but I'd rather have Corbyn actually represent people & lose than watch labour devolve into the torys MKII.

Seriously what's the point if nobody is representing actual people?

What makes you think that Labour under any of the other candidates would be Tories MkII?

if they elect Corbyn the Labour Party can count their blessings that Dave can't call a sudden election like he used to be able to do.............

The swing voters who voted for Blair and didn't vote for Milliband probably wouldn't vote for Corbyn (and then again might not vote for the others anyway) but people who are more left wing who voted green might be tempted.

There's also more than enough people who didn't vote at all to make a huge difference.
