wykikitoon 22489
Bah, just got off the phone from a good mate. His niece has had some issues with her airwaves and throat last couple of months. Finally decided a few weeks back to operate on it. Thursday she went to bed and she started choking. She's currently in a coma and tomorrow they're turning her life support off. Only 36 years old. Monkeys Fist 44837
Sorry to hear that Wykiki mate. It seems so much more devastating when someone dies young. I lost a very close friend at 40- mother of three young girls who idolised her, fit as a lop, walking home one night and bang- aneurism.

Monkeys Fist 44837
Went with Ma Fist to the doc to get her results from the 24 tube in her stomach test. Very positive outcome- she’s finally got a diagnosis and, as a result, has been put on a course of treatment for it. Doc reckons it’s possible she’ll see improvement within 24hrs. She’s been diagnosed with Oesophageal Dysmotility- basically her Oesophagus has been going in to spasm, preventing most food from reaching her stomach. She’s so relieved to finally know what’s causing her bother, and have a treatment for it, she got a little emotional when he told her. Fingers crossed now.
Gemmill 49230
Did she go private for this in the end, or was this sorted through the NHS? Either way, sounds like a great outcome and it sounds like it's taken a big weight off your mam. Hope the treatment works!

We discussed it and she thought it made sense to wait for these results. Glad we did. 👍

He's angry at the Tories for letting the NHS down as apparently she was passed from pillar to post over this problem so could have been preventable. But at a time like this emotions are high. But was good to meet up with him, have a coffee and have a laugh about other stuff. His work have been great in giving him the time off which was nice to hear. He's been very optimistic about it saying that despite how fucking shite it is, shes an organ donor so they've already used some organs and he sees that as some good.
Monkeys Fist 44837 Posted Wednesday at 19:40 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:40 Got home from my shift at 11am. Shower, breakfast and an hour chilling out, then I got a call from Cramlington Hospital. The worst possible news, my Mam has, at best, a few days. The source of her problems finally showed up on a scan and her small bowel is dead, basically. A restriction on the artery that supplies blood to it has cut it off the supply and it’s died, surgeon said that it’s not survivable and she hasn’t got long. Fucking Hell man, what a kick in the bollocks. Just got home, she’s on morphine which, ironically, has meant she was more herself than she has been for months as the pain has gone, but she’s exhausted so we’ve left her to sleep. Back in tomorrow to see the palliative care team and find out if she can come home. Fuck sakes.
ewerk 32810 Posted Wednesday at 19:42 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:42 Jesus Christ man, really sorry to hear that. All you can do now is try to enjoy the time you have left with her and hopefully it’s in the comfort of her own home.

Renton 23421 Posted Wednesday at 19:44 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:44 Really sorry to hear that MF, seems like a similar story to my dad. Only consolation was the palliative care team in my case were excellent. That was the Freeman. Cramlington is also superb though. Take care.
