i found it quite ironic that (outside of yorskhire) people would never dare say to someone: are you okay, you look like you put on weight? but i had several friends and colleagues asking if i was okay or declaring that i'd lost too much weight. apparently body shaming is only okay if you're thin

Well no like. People are generally concerned you've got cancer if you drop weight, or some other horrific disease. Gaining weight just makes you a fat cunt which has implications relating to your moral fibre, so is impolite.

I bet that will be cool especially in that setting.

We are off to watch Back to the Future musical and also the F1 exhibition.

I saw the BTTF musical in Manchester when it first came out. It's mint!

Off to see the Stranger Things show in the West End in April :)

As for Indians, my British Indian doctor mate took me here last year when we were at a conference together in London. Looks like a youth club inside but it was full of Indian families and the food was lush   http://www.lahore-kebabhouse.com

Love stranger things. You'll have to let me know what it's like.

Oh aye, it's definitely impolite. They're either saying you look like your about to croak or congratulations, you're not a fat cunt anymore.

That happened to me when I was on keto. Went for Christmas dinner at my mam's and had her texting my wife after to ask if I was ill.

I was pissed off at the time, but I recently saw some photos from Christmas day and I did look fucking unwell.

I mean, I wasn't. I was what would probably be considered a healthy weight, and if I'd been walking around like that in the 60s and 70s before we all became fat cunts, no one would have said owt.

I had the same around 2012, couldn't say that now though!

I usually took the kids to school, one day I didn't and one of the mams asked the wife if I was ok as I looked gaunt. Looking back at old photos I just looked slim but I suppose it depends on the starting place of who's viewing you? We both put a bit of weight on after the kids were born so by the time they were in the infants/junior school I'd done something about it so probably looked to some that I could be unwell. Stress at the time probably helped lose it as well plus the job I was doing at the time was a physically active one.

Wobbles are to be expected mate, all part of the process. Keep doing what you've been doing and you'll get through this rough patch.

Aye, chin up Craig.

You know these episodes are temporary, so try to bear that in mind when the lows hit.

Hope the Lads can do a job tonight and give you a boost?

keep your chin up man. Get yourself on the happy pills if you haven’t already done so. They have helped a few people I know out massively

Cheers all. And yep, doing what I can to keep on the right track - avoiding medicating with alcohol for the time being and hoping the lads give us all a boost later.

I've done the happy pills Gloomy, and it's evident they don't work for me, sadly. I see a therapist every other week who, whilst not cheap, is insanely brilliant at keeping me sane.

There's a couple of characters in my past whose influence has been extremely damaging. Trying to get beyond it is a massive challenge - particularly when it impacts my day-to-day living.

It's great you recognise it and can talk about it mate, shows you can get it licked.

Hang in there, there's always something positive, however little, around the corner.

Can confirm this is brilliant.

Just don’t expect Silver Service!

Tayyabs (which is closer to Brick Lane) is great too.

In both places, it’s all about the grilled meat than the curried though.

Can only empathise Craig.

I'm a ball of nerves at the minute. Not helped by all the crazy shit happening in the US, which is beginning to directly  impact my job as a lot of my work is on vaccines and have communications with the CDC and ACIP. Those people are going through hell, it's insane what is happening.

Just taking a day at a time, look for another job, and staying off the drink is all I can do at the moment.
