Proud as fuck, tbh.

My daughter told me when I picked her up from work this afternoon that she’d been asked to stay on permanently.
The only one out of all the temporary Christmas workers.

It’s not exactly splitting the atom, but she’s barely 17 and as she said, “Dad, it’ll pay for my gigs and drinks for parties “.

She’s honestly a little smasher who makes me so happy- she sorted herself out a college place, has done the same applying to Uni, this is her 3rd job, again, sorted it out entirely off her own bat.

Apologies- victory and wine

Yeah that’s ok but we haven’t had a recent stool report have we? 😀

Emerged between 9-10am today, and was the densest thing I encountered until @sobonthetyne showed up.

Almost an ace too- tiny amount of wipeage visible on 1st sweep, totally clear on 2nd approach.

"Could we have a word, Andrew? I'm detective Crockett, CT for short and this is my colleague, detective Tubbs from the serious Settee Crime division, we hear there's been an incident involving a wrong sofa being delivered? Before we go any further I'd like to recommend SCS in South Shields for any future three piece furniture purchases, they offer interest free credit for up to twelve months and will also dispose of your old settee for only £15. Tell them CT sent you, Paisan and you may well get a further discount. It was my old patch."

You’re starting to get the hang of this photoshop lark.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just back from the hospital. My brother passed away tonight, he had a brain haemorrhage 13 years ago and had been severely disabled since.

He went in with a chest infection which was common for him due to his previous brain injury (he was quadriplegic so couldn’t shift infections easily). It happened remarkable quickly but luckily I made it back from Manchester in time.

I haven’t processed anything yet tbh, I’m really worried about my mam though. Since my dad died 3 years ago she has devoted herself to my brothers care and I’m worried she will be at a lost end.

Sure am sick of watching my loved ones die though, that’s my dad and brother I’ve looked in the eye as the life leaves them and it’s definitely changed me as a person.

Not a clue why I’m even putting this on here tbh, none of your business you bunch of cunts.

At least Man Utd are shite

Awful to hear that Strawb mate, you and your loved ones have my sincere condolences.

You might be surprised with your Mam- when we lost my little brother* we were very worried about her, as she was nearly 70 at the time and living alone.
After the initial grieving and loss, she coped way better than any of us thought she would.
People can be remarkably resilient, and hopefully your Mam will be too - look at yourself, you’ve dealt with a ridiculous amount of loss recently and you’re solid.

Once again, my sympathy mate, and as Rayvin said, make time to let yourself grieve and process it all.

* it’s his birthday today, and I heard his killer is up for release imminently- it’s been a shite day, but nothing compared to your day.

Sorry to hear that strawb. You and your mum have been through the wringer with everything, especially the recent decision not to offer your brother any further treatment then change their minds. It’ll be difficult for you with your mum given the physical distance between you but as MF says, you could be surprised. It’s not too late for her to take up new hobbies and make new friends.

Really sorry to hear that strawb. Don't know what advice I can give. Maybe just take every day at a time, initially the necessary preparations will probably keep you busy. But don't neglect yourself after that, keep mindful. Sometimes grief can act in strange ways and fuck you up the arse months or even years later. Take care. This board will always be here for you, surprising how much unloading and being listened to helps.
