Gemmill 46027
BTW if anyone on here feels they're not on top of their money, I can strongly recommend using YNAB. I've used it for years and years now and every time I drift away from it my money situation goes very quickly to shit. It's an unbelievable tool to get your shit handled with your money.

I'll draft you something for a cut.

Christmas Tree 4824
I don’t miss hair, (just have a scattering), as you save all that bother with washing and drying and all that goes with it. Tried one of our lasses cancer wigs on the other day and while it’s true I looked pretty hot, I couldn’t be doing with all that extra weight on my head.
Christmas Tree 4824
I’m in a state of concert work at the moment. My little mug side line has gone a bit viral this year (thanks LGBT and Golf people) and I’m currently working 18 hour days in my converted en suite banging out mugs. With 3 heat presses on the go, I’m reduced to limited clothing and I feel like one of those women who make drugs in some Colombian jungle. The conservatory is now just a cardboard city of empty mug boxes and the front lawn is full of pallets. Merry Christmas neighbours Naturally I’m taking full advantage of Mrs CT and any CT child who makes the mistake of showing any sign of inactivity. Counting down the days to last posting day when my 15 minutes of mug fame will end and I can return to my usual slobbish state. 1
Monkeys Fist 43067
Make a shed in the front garden out of all the pallets, to ‘bang old mugs’ in. The neighbours will love it your Mrs. will too.
RobinRobin 11557
I thought you were a crypto millionaire. Can't you get someone else to do that while you wear women's clothing?

sammynb 3508
Fucked off. Show I work on cut all our contract early by two weeks and are starting us two weeks later next year, so that's a months's less pay for this financial year added on to the fact we already had three weeks unpaid break to deal with. Today was my last day and on the ride home, just around the corner from the office, an Uber drive runs a stop sign as I was approaching, leaving me to stop in the keep clear zone on the road, so to make sure I'm not blocking anyone, I go round him and the car in front, just crossing the unbroken line, we are talking inches, a bike tyre width and pull in behind a bike copper, he starts to give me a "word" to which I reply, did you see the Uber run the stop sign in front of me - now I'm allegedly arguing with him - I'm not I've got music and cannot hear him, pulls me over, fines me $400+ and 3 demerits. Merry fucking Christmas mate! Edited December 5 by sammynb
Gemmill 46027
Sorry to hear about the job Sammy, but the driving thing sounds like you've been taking lessons off @PaddockLadif I'm being honest.

Riding Scotty, big difference. The irony is I rage at cunts that cross unbroken lines - u-turns, overtaking, etc, so I probably deserve it, although the other traffic was stationary and I could see 50 metres up the road, which was clear, I even said to the copper, I was in the wrong but thought it was better than being in the clear zone - he was just a twat with a gun unfortunately. He made a point of mentioning the brand of bike I was riding, which stinks of he thinks I have money. And thanks, TV production is dying a death. What use to be a job requiring technical skills as well as creativity, is soon to be usurped by AI and talentless kids. Wages have been the same for about ten years which is ridiculous, and my wage was worth more 20 years ago, when you consider the cost of living now.

I don't think people are being honest with themselves about the impact AI is going to have, we're looking at a complete revolution in how we work and the early evidence is its not going to be good. Me personally, I feel like I'm surfing a wave and just trying to get to the retirement finish line before it breaks. Nowt else you can do.

Nowt else you can do. You are right Rents. Problem is, I cannot see myself retiring before 70 because of what we still owe on our house plus the need to ensure my superannuation, like a pension fund, has more than enough for us to survive for more than a few years after that retirement. Especially as the neo-capitalists fuck the world and the cost of living becomes unaffordable. Edited December 5 by sammynb

I had a lad yesterday ask me what a peice of plate weighs per m. I told him what calc he had to do. Then he came back to me about 5 seconds later 'Oh Google AI has done it straight away' Mint, so now you're clueless in how to do the calc because google AI told you.

Aye, and you have know way of knowing if Google has done the calculation correctly or just plucked the result from its digital arse. I think Google is a lot worse now than it was a few years ago. The AI modules doesn't help, there's no transparency on how it find and orders results, and it is often just plain wrong. The problem with Google was it became to successful and became a virtual monopoly. Then the owners changed from being genuine innovators and motivated by this to only interested in the coin.
wykikitoon 20721
I have always got grads to do hand calcs over modelling in software. Once they can do it by hand then I shall teach them how to model to make it efficient. That way you can see if something is wrong. Otherwise its shit in shit out. At one company they didnt want that approach, they wanted them to get stuff out ASAP. So one kid modelled a building, it went out. I was asked to check it as it was about to go on site. The steel fabby was saying he could shave off 75t! The client was playing high hell. I went on and loadings were wrong etc. Thankfully it was well overdesigned, I have had it the other way too when it's been under designed. Thankfully I got that very early on and managed to steer the lad in the right direction

Thankfully I got that very early on and managed to steer the lad in the right direction Speaking of grads, I worked for a time for a French subsea engineering company my favourite grad story from the engineering guys: They were planning a load of a huge amount of pipeline gear onboard a ship, but they couldn’t get it all to fit (using 3d modelling software). They were at it for hours and hours, anyway young grad says ”can I have a go” Fuck it they say, why not, we’ll take a break, not 10 minutes later grad finds them to announce he’d done it. Incredulous “How’d you manage that” they say, he replied “I just changed the scale of the load” proud as punch. I do also have another grad genius moment, it involves painting arrows on the seabed to help direct a pipeline laying op. “Can we not just paint some arrows”.
