Went to see the dog tonight she's in a bad way & unless things take a turn for the better we'll have to have her put to sleep tomorrow - which is her 6th birthday.

Life is a complete cunt sometimes.

:(

Hoping things work out for you mate

Had to put her to sleep in the end. She was relaxed but couldn't function at all & the vet said we could pay for further treatment but would end up costing thousands for a chance of survival and she'd be suffering all the way so the money wasn't an option. Gutted, very upsetting day.Was there when they gave her the needle and it was over quickly she knew we were there as she stopped crying as we entered the room.

Ah Tom, so sorry to hear. You know it was the right thing to do, not that it makes it any easier, but at least you were there to give her some comfort at the end. Get yourself nicely sozzled and have a good cry if you need to - I'll raise a glass in her direction tonight and all.

Thanks guys - I'm aware some people don't get it & I appreciate that. I'm canny gutted & she was like a shadow around the house & for me walking her was therapy & helped me find my bearings & chill out as I could trust her perfectly. She was fine last week, energetic & a laugh so she's gone from that to being a little ill on Saturday - what they said was an allergy to a point where we really had to put to sleep because it was the kind thing to do.

Had a few drinks like but that's occasionaly how I deal with problems & it helps

We're going to put together a collection of all the photographs of her from being a pup. Even my friends who would regularly visit are gutted - because you knew she was there & she'd greet everyone.
