bobbyshinton 59
happy with where you ended after spending all that money. Why are your attendances so low, do you go all the time? How does someone living where you live support the scum, you are a geordie.
ReggiePerrin 0
Thought 12th at start of season, so yes I'm fairly satisfied with where we finished. Attendances.....................that old chestnut, averaging 40K for a team that nearly got relegated ain't bad, & yes I acknowledge yours are good.......for a side that got relegated! As you are well aware I don't attend hardly any games these days. I'm a northumbrian, an area which has a very high number of enlightened sunderland followers. How do you think your mob will fair next season? Rumblings are already abounding regards a lack of funding for new players, which of your current squad will make the grade? ReggiePerrin 0
When you look at Wolves & Birmingham, neither have spent a great amount on players, but the team spirit & confidence they brought up with them has been to their advantage, the relegated teams have all suffered from a lack of one or the other or both, whereas your squad should have confidence in abundance, which I think will stand you in good stead. Team spirit seems canny, although Carrol & Barton will always cast a shadow on that. If you can buy like Birmingham have, Ferguson, Bowyer types, for example, small outlay for decent players, you should be ok.
Guest alex
Birmingham spent over £20m since Jan09 tbh, sure Benítez cost them nearly £10m and broke there club record transfer fee And wolves brought in Doyle at over £6m and Berra at 3m (i think) two of their best players. I know what you're saying but that's not a massive amount of money really. More than we're likely to spend though imo. It's ok though because they've upped the parachute payments. khay 10
I think Benítez is only on loan at the moment with a deal to buy.
