Jimbo 175
NEWCASTLE want to sign Bayern Munich's midfielder Hamit Altintop to prove they are serious about their Premier League return. The Turkey international is out of contract in the summer and is attracting interest from Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray. But Newcastle are also trying to land Altintop as their marquee capture in a bid to show they are back in the market for Europe's top players. The wideman played in Bayern Munich's Champions League semi-final win over Lyon in midweek. But he is looking for a change of scenery after ten years of playing football in Germany. The 27-year-old certainly has plenty of pedigree. He was part of the Turkish side that reached the semi-finals at Euro 2008 and has made over 50 appearances for his country. Geordie Boyo 24
Let them buy players who need to compete for their place in a squad where there is already a little bit of competition for places rather than bring in one or two so-called bignamed players earning mountains of wod in wages who could potentially not play their all knowing how good they think they are thinking they deserve a starting place. I'd personally rather them buy 3/4 proven players at this level then have 1/2 bigheaded so-called bignamed players fuck up the unity and everything they've worked for. When you're top 3 you can buy big names but we've not been there for a long time. It hardly ever works out if you bring in a big time Charlie to a settled side unless the squad are equally as good. Even then I'm not sure it's a great thing. It's what Real Madrid do. You always want to get them one move BEFORE the huge money transfer. By that time they're rarely as good as you think they'll be. Andrew 4941
Id have him here, we've been crying out for a quality attacking CM for seasons now and hes probably at the top of the list as far as being a good player and attainable for us goes we're not good enough in midfield to stay up as it stands, we need players
