ChezGiven 0
Would happily have O'neil as our manager if we could've.Great man manager and done well enough at all the clubs he's been at the helm of. "Did you hear the shite he was spouting yesterday afternoon? Fucking retard." what was that about missed a lot of the highlights etc First of all berates the journalist for not coming up to him after the Chelsea match and demanding to know what he thought about that penalty claim "where were you then eh?". Then said that it was a penalty as even though the "birmingham player got the ball first, he then took out the man". Aye. Tit. Guest alex
I was wondering about that, tough one to come back from? It's more that they were probably thinking about an upgrade anyway, like Buffon. This'll force their hand a bit as he might miss the start of next season. Although I like Hart mesel like. Andrew 4941
if Hart gets the deserved number 1 spot in englands squad this summer and hasa good WC they'll keep him at city as no 1 I think odd when you look where the rest of the english PL keepers are James - relegated Green - just about safe Kirkland - 16th Robinson - 11th Hart - 9th and thats it, after that you're talking Harper and Carson for actual first team Keepers

Thing is, I rate Given as far and away the best link in their defence. Opens the door for him to move to Arsenal IMO as Aluminium is way short of the mark for them. Craig 6700
Man City approach Birmingham about recalling Joe Hart Manchester City have approached Birmingham City about the possibility of recalling on-loan goalkeeper Joe Hart, BBC Sport understands. First-choice Shay Given will miss Manchester City's last three games of the season after dislocating a shoulder in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Arsenal. Stuart Taylor is also injured and next in line is the inexperienced Faroe Islands keeper Gunnar Nielsen. However, Birmingham are not obliged by the original agreement to release Hart. Even if Birmingham did agree to ending Hart's season-long loan early, it would still need to be ratified by the Premier League board and objections could follow from other clubs. Sixth-placed Manchester City, plus Aston Villa, Tottenham and Liverpool are all vying for fourth place in the final domestic league table, which comes with the chance of additional millions of pounds from a lucrative run in the Champions League. Spokesmen for Villa, Spurs and Liverpool, all said on Monday that they had "no comment" on the Premier League ruling. Only two points separate the four teams, with Roberto Mancini's side taking on Villa at Eastlands on Saturday before heading to Spurs on 5 May. Hart had previously hinted that he was likely to remain at Birmingham and added: "As far as I know, that's the way it is - I will be staying here. "I really enjoy what I'm doing with the boys at Birmingham and in training and just try to repay their efforts with my performances." Republic of Ireland international Given has been an integral figure between the posts for the Eastlands outfit since joining from Newcastle in February 2009. His presence forced Hart, 23, to seek first-team opportunities elsewhere. "I am devastated for Shay," added Hart after Given was ruled out for the rest of the campaign. "I texted him. You don't want that to happen to anyone, especially someone like him, a really great keeper and a good person. "All I can do is wish him a speedy recovery and hope he gets back between the posts as quickly as possible." BBC Sport understands the Manchester club have also approached Sunderland about taking Marton Fulop on an emergency loan deal. Fulop, 26, has played 14 games for Sunderland this season but has fallen behind Craig Gordon and Trevor Carson in the pecking order at the Stadium of Light. The Hungarian, who was once Paul Robinson's understudy at Tottenham, has also had loan spells with Chesterfield, Coventry, Leicester and Stoke and has 20 international caps. Last month Chelsea faced a similar goalkeeping crisis, when Ross Turnbull was their only fit goalkeeper for the league game against West Ham, with the west Londoners promoting academy product Rhys Taylor to the bench. Faroe Islands international Nielsen had never played in the Premier League until the last 17 minutes of the draw at the Emirates Stadium, where Given had to leave the field on a stretcher. However, Manchester City manager Mancini has no back-up for Nielsen and cannot risk losing another stopper at such a crucial stage as the club push for the fourth Champions League place. Nielsen arrived at Eastlands in 2009 on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers after a loan spell with Blue Square Premier side Wrexham. luckyluke 2
I don't think Given will go to a bigger club than City. He's a fantastic shot stopper but I think his other shortcomings would put off the likes of Arsenal. Let's face it, did anybody else ever put in a bid whilst he was here?
