StoneColdStephenIreland 74
Not exact quotes (obviously) but the following sums up the club’s ever changing position on transfers this year... Andy Carroll is not for sale Every penny of the Carroll money will be spent on new players. Every penny of the Carroll money will be spent on new players plus their wages. Every penny of the Carroll money will be spent on new players plus their wages plus new contacts for existing players. Every penny of the Carroll money will be spent on wages and painting the training ground, apart from the money we keep back for spending in January. These free transfers cost a lot of money but we will be splashing the cash on a quality striker before window shuts. Oh shit! All the Carroll money has vanished in a puff of smoke and it’s sell before we buy time. By the time the transfer window shuts it’ll probably be... We had to sell Enrique, Barton, Jonas, Colo and Tiote on deadline day to pay Wayne Bridges agent’s fees. We had to sell Krul to pay for some new carpets in the toilets. You forgot the point before the Andy Carroll is not for sale line, were Pardew says he'll be banging on the door asking for transfer funds, which is what he said when he got the job

philippealbert 0
Tevez deal is off. Leaves him and City in an awkward position. it was never on according to the boss of corinthians, city rejected their first bid and then claimed a price had been agreed when actually theyd just declared a price to corinthians that they didnt want to/couldnt pay citys way of dealing has annoyed me this window, theyve got CL football and more money than anyone else and theyre still trying all the sly cunt tapping players up in papers and lying

Unfortunately it seems corinthians did not want to play ball on this one!

sniffer 0
I would have been more surprised if the deal went through. Let's face it, in economic terms, they are a mickey mouse club trying to play with the big boys. I suppose any publicity is good publicity. Kid Dynamite 6985
Brazil's economy is booming at the minute though. Ronaldo, Luis Fabiano, Ronaldinho and Adriano all went back to Brazil on mega wages, while Neymar and Ganso would have been flogged long ago in past years. They have the money to compete with the big boys these days
sniffer 0
I thought adriano was at Barcelona so I missed that. The rest of them are a bit of a Dad's army though going back for a final pay day. One thing paying wages, another thing paying a mega transfer fee plus wages.. Bit like us.
