Guest Barrack Road
Without wishing to sound like HappyFace, our average attendance this season is 42,988, if the crowd is 52,000 on Saturday, the average gate will be just under 43,400 meaning we've got a higher average gate this season than Liverpool despite being in the division below. THAT says it all.

Aye there are and that makes it even more impressive especially given the fact we've only had 9 out of 23 Sat 3pm kick offs. I think you've lost the plot there. I've said before that my ex-boss (Irish of course) who could never get a ticket for years has been getting begging emails offering tickets for games for about the last 4 years - it started as being just midweek games but now it's all of them except Man U/Everton. Guest Barrack Road
Is that not the away end that didnt sell out though ? No they just reduce the away allocations to less than 1000 for some teams.

We have a bigger natural support than them, always have had come rain or shine. Gloryhunters don't count never will.
wykikitoon 20735
Made me chuckle listening to this weekes fighting talk, was set in Liverpool and they had a good pop at their "home grown" support.
ChezGiven 0
One figure i would be interested to look at is the number of unique visitors to the ground over the season. It might not be possible to pull the data out from the customer databases as those paying cash at the box office or turnstile wont show up but it would be interesting to see. I suspect we have a lot of fans who dont go every week and pick and choose which ones to go to meaning 42k one week is not the same 42k the next, if you know what i mean. Some of you lot are daft like, banging on about attendances in one post, beaming with pride that there will be a higher average gate than Liverpool, then slagging off the people who will create that attendance in the next. Tom 14013
I've only been to six this season like* but that's nowt to do with me staying away as such it's just what circumstance has dictated and to be honest I found it harder going last season when we weren't really picking anything up but demoralising results and showing ourselves to be an utter circus. Should be a good day anyway, I think perhaps Chez is right though, how many different groups of people who made up the 44k's will be making up the 52k? I doubt it's people who haven't been at all this season or they would just feel like tools. *Plymouth/Huddersfield/Leicester/Boro/Barnsley (A)/ Blackpool. Tom 14013
I guess you would have to hear from somebody who hasn't been before this season what their reasoning is and why they haven't been before. A few probably live away etc etc. Meh.
