Aye somehow I hadnt seen this before either. Was good to watch actually. Good to hear their thoughts about what was going on then. Also about how when KK left and KD came in everything changed, totally and how Shearer became the core focus of the team rather than the whole team. Also picked up on how they agreed it was bad that Les had won player of the year and then Shearer came in and was told he was losing his no 9 shirt to him (AS). But that he was getting no 10 which was Clarky. Said this had a bit of a negative impact on the team. Still, you could still hear their enthusiasm for what went on then and KK's cavalier approach.

Havn't seein it in a while but I remember thinking how regretful all of them, particularly Beresford seemed about not winning the league. I was surprised at the degree to which they still seem to think about it. I'm pretty sure it was on this show that Beresford said something about not feeling like he was able to join in the celebrations when he stayed up with southampton as it paled so much in comparison with what he was on the brink of achieving with us, thought that said it all about how important that time was to him.

Aye I remember Barca were interested in him at the time but thinking back I think they were in a lull at that time (as was much of the Spanish league IIRC) - AC Milan, Marseille & Ajax were the big teams back then and the Premier League was on the cusp of something massive - Bergkamp signed for Arsenal around the same time did he not.

Anyway I've still not seen this - anyone know if it'll be repeated?

Don't know when/if it will be repeated but MattM4 uploaded the whole thing some point and the links (still working) can be found in this thread http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...mp;#entry634049

I don't upload any of this by the way!!

Well hardly any of it. I just know where to find it and pass it on.

Anyway, Ginola has a little dig at Keegan which I think is good. Basically after his first season Ginola could have gone to Barca but Keegan persuaded him to be loyal and stay only to walk out a few months later.

Overall I quite enjoyed listening to this.

Interesting to hear John Beresford talking about his mental scars, and Ginola too. As supporters of the club I can relate in a big way to what they were saying and I agree that if Keegan had stayed who knows what would have happened, as I agree and always have thought that the only thing that cost us that league was a lack of experience of being in that situation.

I also agreed with what they said about Keegan's sky rant after the game at Leeds, if I had been a player I would have thought it was great to have heard such passion from your manager.

The loss of Barry Venison would have helped as he was a great captain and had been there before. It was interesting to hear Ginola's sentiments and the anger he felt that Keegan had seemed like a "daddy" and had deserted them when he left.

Aye Matt, KK should have just let one of our best players leave. That would have been good for the club. You sad little tosser

It's good because it airs some of the reasons why Keegan does deserve criticism.

Thought you might have a say. So Ginola isn't entitled to feel betrayed? Even then yes, his feelings don't matter as long as he did stay, but what I mean is that it mirrors the betrayal towards the fans. But don't let that stop you being a contrary prick as usual.

:naughty: you sad wannabe e-bully.
