Papa Lazaru 0
No, but he will. I was thinking today on issues liek this, how much has Pardew watched of our team and what will be the advice he gets from Pedro and Stone. I actualyl hope he phones Hughton because he is such a top bloke he would offer any help asked for i bet. My worry is he goes for the "obvious" and experienced choices and the absolutely frightening situation will be when it coems to good old English battler Smith against "unkown" foreigner Tiote. Things like this will come down to what Pedro and the like tell him and if he's stupid enough to think the likes of Smith should be in the team! Think he will listen more to Nolan as Captain, particularly because he needs to get the players on side. We all know our best team anyway so its really just a case of who's fit. Once the Liverpool game is out the way, it will interesting to see what he does with the likes of Vuckic. Im also sure he has being studying the back catalogue of every one of our games over the last 6 weeks. Yeah, you're probably right about him talking to Nolan, but if he talks to the senior pros i'm sure Smith will tell him he's in the form of his life!! And i suppose he can indeed get access to as much of our games as he likes.
ewerk 31228
The good thing is that Pardew has no allegiance to or relationship with Harper and so can make the decision on merit rather than due to a sense of loyalty to one or the other. Things will get more interesting if Forster returns in January.

Christmas Tree 4851
Got to be nailed on No 1 now in even in the eyes of Harper die-hards. At fault for their goal probably but his overall keeping is getting better and better. Seems to have the shot stopping skills of Given with the added benefit of being able to come out and catch / punch stuff. Really pleased for the lad. manc-mag 1
Cyclical really, number one until he hits bad form. Thing is with keepers there's only ever one on the pitch at a time so you can't really judge how well Harper is doing concurrently, only if Krul is doing well or badly. Harper isn't good enough anyway really though so I'm happy for it to be Krul until we get better keeping options across the squad.

Kid Dynamite 7182
Harper is 36, his best years are behind him. We have one of the best young keepers around who is playing out of his skin at the minute. Its a no brainer imo. City haven't looked back since they dropped Given for Hart

manc-mag 1
His work on crosses has come on a lot too, which is as you'd expect from someone with eyes on the side of his head.
Tooj 17
One thing I quite like is the likes of him, Sammy, Vuckic, Abeid, Ferguson etc all seem to get on really well, so we've got some players with not just potential coming through, but they've got quite a good spirit going on as well. Yeh definitely It's refreshing to see as it's so easy for a young footballer to be a prick. Vuckic loves the fans & is quite amazed by the support as he proved at Leeds. Perhaps we'll begin to appreciate the ''promote from within policy'' but I think that'll only ever happen when we take the ''& sell when they get good'' off the end of it. The Fish 10972
Worried about our own lack of depth, but don't begrudge him going for 1st team football. Hopefully we've a recall option.

You'd hope so since Forster at Celtic probably doesn't have one till January at best and not at all, at worst. I can't remember now when he went on loan if they specified the exact terms or not, i think it may just be till January but am not sure of that. hostile_statue 0
Harper gone on loan to Brighton! Strange that, I must say. None of our other keepers is ready to step in if, god forbid, something would happen to Krul.

JawD 99
Harper must really have fucked them off with his speaking out a while back. Understand him wanting first team football but seems to leave us weaker for it. Looks more and more like the club engineered this all along. I'm firmly in favour of Krul these days but our backup is now questionable.

ewerk 31228
While not necessarily the end of the road for Harper here, this does mean that another senior player close to Chris Hughton who made their feelings known when he was relieved of his duties has now gone. Out of interest, Brighton travel to Hughton's Birmingham on Saturday. Nolan, Barton, Harper - only Alan Smith now remains of the "old guard".
