Hangovers

I inadvertently tried the woolly hat method the other day as I was really cold during my hangover.

No adverse effects, but I wouldn't rave about it either. Perhaps I have too much hair.

I tried the hat thing, wasn't impressed.

My traditional hangover cure is a Muddy Puddle. 50/50 full fat coke and fresh orange juice. Sugar, Vitamin C and Caffeine all help. Having read Gem's comments above I think I might try muddy puddle a la ouef next time. Sans hat.

That sounds minging. Why not just have a glass of coke and a glass of orange juice?

clearly you don't do the washing up in your house.

I do, as it happens.

simples, you rinse the glass out after the coke and then refill it with OJ

...........and then everyone lives in peace and harmony!

;) There's something about people of that age that obsess over that song though, I just find it annoying. My sister is his type of age 39/40? She fucking loves that song, and worships in my opinion the most overrated Irish film ever, and I know a load of other older people who love it, "The Commitments".

I have to finally concede that after a lifetime of not getting hangovers and pissing many people off because of it, I now occasionally suffer. The prime example being after a night out at Christmas (after these here board meal and drinkies) I ended up going out with my brother and then my dad, can't remember the walk home and apparently my mother had to put me to bed as I was staying at their house.

The next morning I had told my mam I'd go to church with her and we'd take the bairn. I thought I was going to die. Every time the baba dropped his toy and I had to bend down to pick it up there were explosions going off in my head and it was all I could do not to puke behind a pew. Good, classy Catholic girl, me...

Felt rotten all day today. I've barely moved from the sofa and had to get a big greasy pizza to try and save myself. It just about worked, I'm starting to feel human again.

And further research shows that no other than Rolling Stone magazine included Mustang Sally in there list of Greatest songs of all time.

With regard to the commitments this was directed by Alan parker and the screen play adapted by no other than our very own Dick Clement and Ian Le Frenais. (For the young'uns these guys also gave us Porridge, the likely lads and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet).

It was indeed voted the Best ever Irish film in 2005 and also won the Bafta for best film.

While Mustang Sally is very good, my favourite sonfg from the film is Try a little tenderness. A very famous song orginally brought out in 1932, performed by some of the worlds greats including Crosby and Sinatra, but really given some welly in this film, particularly bearing in mind how you arrive at this song. Others will remember it as the theme tune to the flake advert. It is also included in Rolling Stones list of greatest songs of all time.

You sister obviously got the ear for music Stevie <_<

If anyone hasnt seen or heard this song, have a quick watch BUT DO watch the clip all the way through because the end of the song is magnificent. Just got goosebumps watching this clip and going to get the film this week and watch it again with a few sherberts.

Cheers Stevie :icon_lol:
