DubiousBobcat 0
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcas...72703-26033155/ Not sure I totally agree with that. Shame Enrique got injured as he would have walked it....(still has in my opinion)
Barney 0
I'd have Ricky and Collo ahead of him, fair play though.

Andrew 4713
shouldnt have won it, based on a good goalscoring start to the season and the fact he still has a PL reputation his general play is still pisspoor and he would probably be quicker across the ground if he walked on his hands this is a seperate issue but does anyone have any idea what kind of wages hes on? it seems assumed that its quite a lot but hes a MA signing so im not sure

He would not have been on that much at Bolton.
Renton 21048
Well, I for one like Nolan. He's done an excellent job imo. Enrique has probably been better but has been injured a while now. So Nolan probably deserves it.

I'd have given it to Enrique but if they're going on importance to the cause, Nolan's goals have been crucial. Not that I'm saying he's done anything else of note but his goals won us games early on so I can see where they're coming from.

Papa Lazaru 0
Smith was excellent at the start of the season. He was in this division, then for some reason he's just disappeared and totally lost his form. I'd definitely have given it to Enrique, but a midfielder who is still well known and has scored alot of goals is always more likely to win than a left back who will still have the stigma of being a foreign toon defender so assumed to be shit! I think Nolan's goals will have ultimaely been very important in our promotion so he deserves alot of credit, but as people have said his all round play isn't good and he's had some shocking games this season. Barney 0
As Smith said himself recently, he's never played this amount of games before. Defo not in the last 5 years or so.
Tom 14011
My favourite player for us this season has been Guthrie. Even when played out of position he's done well - despite occasionally drifting into the centre when he's supposed to have been on the right! However I think Nolan's goals have earned him the title and over the season I suppose he's probably been an asset in this league.
The Fish 10672
I think he played well when the rest of the team weren't. He's certainly a popular player in the dressing room by all accounts and we all know how important a unified dressing room is to a beleaguered team. His goals have dried up but his contribution to the side early on has won him this accolade. Come the end of the season I hop he's won a lot more praise as that will make him costlier for whomever signs him.
Deano 0
My bad i misread it thinking 'player of the month'. Anyways isnt it a bit early for player of the season? Even still Nolan would not be my choice at all.....player of the season would have to go to Enrique, Coloccini and Carroll in that order. Nolans goals have been a bonus, a welcome bonus but all to many times he has contributed fuck all else...that said he was pretty creative AND combattive against Cardiff and Coventry when in the middle with Guthrie. However I think Nolan's goals have earned him the title and over the season I suppose he's probably been an asset in this league. What a generous observation! - we would have been more than a bit short without his goals this season. Nolan has proved himself a very good finisher this season and for me he is better on the ball than he is given credit for. Yes he does lack pace and yes it would be better if he were quicker but pace is not everything. While he was apparrently poor in his last season at Bolton he was a top man for them for several years - in the premiership. Throw in his age and I just do not get (at all!) the assumption from many on this thread that Nolan cannot play in the PL and needs to be sold. Far too much negativity on this thread. And we have far bigger weaknesses than Kevin Nolan - seriously pleased for him picking up his award and assuming he takes some sort of bow the morra night I'll applaud the scouse salad dodger.
