Puzzled by the whole Lib Dem slide backwards, clearly people didn't like the thought of a hung parliament.

My constituency (reading east) was held by the tories, which means my MP still works part time hours for a full time salary.

Lib Lab coalition wouldn't be big enough though.

And as I said before, the first thing the Tories will do is arrange a nasty little deal with the Ulster Unionists.

I feel quite depressed by it all. It shouldnt matter but I just cant stand to see Camerons smug face :(

He's won fuck all though, and he won't be prime minister. Brown will still be there in 2 years time, and that's the thing to get angriest about of all.

Doubt it.

Any minority government is going to have to include the party with the largest minority.

...and even if Labour did retain any semblence of power, Brown would go the journey. Maybe Miliband :(

Aye, I think Brown is finished. Pity imo, if people could see past his unease at PR they might realise he may be the best person to get us on the road to recovery - just my opinion, obviously.

I don't think anyone has any idea what will happen now.

hmmmmmm, i think its been a very disapointing night from all perspectives.

oh well...........

Don't agree, the Tories don't seem to have gathered enough ammo to do much damage. :(

Will that give them a majority though? Even if it did, they'd be paralysed, the tories have a few loose cannons on their back benches.

Its the mish mash result that basically hamstrings the country. An outright Labour or Tory win would have been better. Now it will all be about back room deals and jobs for the boys.

If I was Cameron I would probably avoid any shady deals, let the Lib Lab pact have a go and then wait for the next general election in November.

You should be gutted by last night. Given all the factors against Labour, the poor Lib Dem showing, and the media influence the tories have had in a bankrolled tory campaign, they've been unable to even get a majority. Cameron should resign imo. :(

First of all, we should all be gutted because chaos will now rule regardless.

The Sky political bloke saying how Labour got less votes this time than they did under Kinnock yet could still form a government.

Think it all points to a quick change in the voting system.

Inc a cell of about 30 anti-EU renegade MP's.

That would be a change the Conservative party alone has flatly rejected then?

How ironic.

You must admit this was a piss poor performance from the tories, given the circumstances. People don't like your man Cameron I'm afraid.

Thatcher was politically spent before I was 10 years old. I have little to base a personal opinion of her on. I fucking despise Cameron though.

:( How utterly patronising of you CT. People don't like him, he comes across as a priviliged, PR orientated tosser with no convictions. Read this thread again if you don't believe me, and accept he has led the tories to failure.

Peter Mandelson has conceded that the country had voted for change and accepted that replacing Gordon Brown was one of a number of options on the morning after the night before.

Mandy cut-throat as ever :(

One more non-Tory MP elected and they officially cannot gain a majority.

:(

Very lame performance by the Tories taking into account the current circumstances and up against Bungle. :(

Cameron reckons Labour have lost their mandate to govern and he's right, but the Tories don't have one either by the same token.

Think they've all had a mare to tell the truth.

:(

Sick of these quotes where they're all saying the public have spoken....we just don't know what they've said.

The public have blatantly said they're all as bad as each other.

EVERY party is disappointed...including 'other'.

The anti Tory vote not working to well - sickening.

That's what happens when people don't think about what they are doing.

Glad to see Tynemouth never made that mistake.

Was worried about a Tory increase that never materialised.
