Guest Barrack Road
Out of the three I think Clegg is trying to see it from the country's perspective more than the other two. What gives you that impression? Ewerk, I genuinely don't understand it so don't think I'm taking the piss, but in Northern Ireland you have Sinn Fein, who obviously are the catholic republican party, the DUP who are the unionist proddie party, so do the other two UCU (obviously Unionist), the other party SDLP, is that made of catholics and prods, as some sort of generic party? SDLP is moderate Nationalist (Catholic, if you like) afaik. The cross communities party is known as the Alliance. They're the ones who beat Peter Robinson in his seat (East Belfast). They've since splintered into various other parties. Edited May 7, 2010 by alex

Basically the spectrum goes likes this, from Prod to Catholic: TUV - DUP - UUP - Alliance - SDLP - Sinn Fein TUV - The Traditional Ulster Voice are a new Unionist party who felt that the DUP weren't hardline enough, they've won fuck all seats. DUP - Were ultra-hardline but have mellowed slightly of late, they're the biggest party in NI. UUP/UCU - For a while they were the biggest party but have lost a lot of ground to the DUP as many unionists saw them as moving too far to the centre. Alliance - Have just won their first seat in Westminster, non-sectarian so not interested in Catholic/Prod shite. SDLP - Catholic/Nationalist party. Like the UUP they've lost ground to more hardline rivals in recent years i.e. Sinn Fein, never been involved with terrorism. Sinn Fein - Republican, very far to the left. I'm sure you know enough about them. Edited May 7, 2010 by ewerk

Christmas Tree 4711
Camerons speech.... Quite simply brilliant. He is the man, the stability the change. Simply brilliant. It's amazing two people of the same species can disagree so much. It was awful man. I can only put that down to your youth, ignorance and general lack of life experiences. I'm sure in a few years when you start shaving, have a child or two, a few jobs, a few houses, live through a few recessions, you will eventually see the world is a big complex place with lots of different opinions. You will probably also see that sometimes the torys are good for the uk and sometimes labour.
