aye, its a shame that people come to Britain and have no intention of integrating properly because they want to continue living like they do in their native country, including demanding seperate schools, not bother learning the language, and opposing our flag and those who defend its global interests and territory.

A Butler and his wife live next door to us as we live within the grounds of a very large private house. They are lovely people too, the best neighbours ever!

Handy too as you'll know who committed any murders in the vicinity.

the exact opposite actually, most of the aggression during the riots in 01ish were as a result of, for lack of a better term, white aggression

no surprise you took it the way you did however

If we are going to find a solution to this problem , perhaps we should consult the ideological superpowers of the British National Party or the English Defence League?

Hold on this sounds familiar...

No surprise that you'd agree with the glaring contradiction that people should (or even could possibly) "continue living like they do in their native country" even while Britain pursues it's "global interests" in those countries.

How does your perception of Muslim immigrants compare with British Emmigrants?

Leaving aside the empire building days involving conquest, genocide and slavery, in the modern world do you think all of the Brits on the Costa del Sol have any respect for Spanish culture or want to integrate? Do you think they support Spain or England in the world cup? Do they bother with Spanish?

Moving on to the middle east, ex-pats in the gulf states use the power of their needed skillsets to piss all over local culture - including demanding separate schools, places where they can drink alcohol and nightlife which offends many locals.

Compared with those examples, I'd say Muslim immgrants are pretty integrated.

No, exactly the opposite. I'm saying we should embrace other cultures rather than force them to conform.

You and Leazes seem to want it both ways though.

The problem is quite a lot don't want to be embraced.

This is where the problems fester on both sides.

Personally I think if you choose to live in another country you should make every effort to intergrate but that does not mean giving up your roots ie football team.

If I decided to move to Spain I would want my whole family to learn the language and attend a Spanish school so they could intergrate into their new surroundings very quickly.

I do actually think there is an issue with a lot of Pakistani immigrants making no effort and especially the ghettoisation of those in places like Blackburn and Leicester and I'd have no problem with attempts to change it.

But again there are lots of immigrants who do make the effort - but people like LM treat them with equal contempt.

Exactly, but we still go over there, embrace them and make them embrace us by force....which tends to make the embrace uncomfortable.

Quite a lot of Brits don't want to embrace or be embraced either as evidenced by this thread, but either you accept the pursuit of global interests and the associated global citizenry (the current way) or you shut off your border and become insular (the BNP way). You cannot have it both ways (as you and Leazes seem to want) where you pursue global interests by force AND shut off your borders and crush dissent.

Once your kids got out of school and were working in Spain, say Spain started bombing the shit out of Britain. Who would you expect your kids to side with?

that's very true. I know plenty of "dark skinned" people and most have integrated and fully mix in the community, are friendly and outgoing.

There are a few though who clearly have raised barriers to the community and make no effort.

There attitude seems a bit like the gypsie community in that it's ok to make a living off us but we are to heathen to mix with.

I agree as well actually although it gets a bit tiresome when all these threads become Muslims = bad, the 'West' = the good guys.

I think both attitudes reflect human nature to a degree.

I can see how Brits in Spain or Pakistanis in England could "desperately" cling to a very localised culture where all their needs are met (religiously, socially etc) and feel no need to try.

Then again as we all know other people are more outgoing in any new situation and would make the effort.

Maybe its a bit presumtious to dicate to people that they should be more outgoing when its obviously a common human trait to be insular. I still feel overall that over time the answer is a dilution/mixing of culture that can only come with subsequent generations - as exampled by West Indian and probably India immigration over a longer period.

That's one of the reasons I'm so opposed to faith/sectarian schools and also private education. I think for the good of future society, the more people are "forced" to mix the better.
