Anyone know Employment law enough to give some advice? Not going to go into it in public (for a change) but I'd be grateful for any help via email

cheers, Dave

Course It doesn't help that the raaaaaastclart doesn't check his pm inbox as often as I'd like. Probably keeps getting lost on the way...

While we're on the subject, I thought you could sack someone within the first year for any reason other than discrimination and not face any trouble. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

I think in their probation period. For example in my new job I have a 3 months at the start where they can sack me with only a weeks’ notice.

But it would depend on the contract I think.

So, am I right in thinking you're Fish's boss?

 for once it's not me that's on the job hunt.

And I thought that there are still procedures that you just go through, even in the probation period. A warning, then a formal warning followed by dismissal.

Naah, pretty sure they can dispose of you when they want in the early stages. Otherwise it would be a nightmare employing people.
