I wouldn't have played for the scottish cunt either if he'd grabbed me round the throat.

we'd already been through this with robson and dyer at middlesboro, I was at the riverside for that game as well when dyer had refused to play on the right wing.

when he was brought on he held the captains armband out at arm length waving it like piece of bog roll covered in shit.

I'm not saying bellamy was a saint, but by god souness had it in for him from the moment he walked through the door, because he was clueless, useless, thick as pigshit scottish cunt.

And he’d also been told to “sort the dressing room out” by Shepherd…

They are all, Shepherd, Souness and all three players utter fuckin cunts. There’s nothing choose between them and @Craig is absolutely spot on with his point about togetherness…Eddie Howe knows how to achieve that vital component…

One Welsh midget sticking up for another. Quelle surprise.

I think bellamy was briefly arrested on suspicious of common assault on the quayside because a pissed up wannabe wag clambered in to his car uninvited and he pulled her out.

which makes him an infinitely more restrained welshman than me, I'd have shagged her first.

When did he feign injury? Didn't the Scottish fuckpig take him to London and then dropped him from the match day squad using the excuse Bellamy was injured, which Bellamy then denied after the match?

Arsenal away and Souness publicly stated Bellamy made himself unavailable for selection because he was injured which, as you allude to, Bellamy denied any injury.

And here we are again - It wasn't Bellamy, it was Souness. No, it was both of them! Childish spat between manager and player both of which were cunts and both of whom I hold equally responsible.

Worlds apart from the unity we have today.

I think Dyer and Bellamy both did a history rewrite on their relationship with Robson were neither of them were particularly honest with themselves. You’ve had that with other players from that era too like Bramble and Jenas, although in their cases it was blaming the fans for their own shortcomings in terms of mental strength. I think Robson was eventually knackered when he lost the likes of Shearer too, if the rumours are true, and the ridiculous balancing act of the younger and more experienced players factions couldn’t be managed anymore. If Robson did want to replace Shearer he was probably correct as for at least the last two seasons here all he was arsed about was breaking Milburn’s record, arguably to the detriment of the team.
Bellamy’s a funny one. For all lots of opposition fans hated him the worst thing he ever did to other teams was play well and make his mouth go. He didn’t cheat or dive or leave his foot in like sone cowards do. And he gave 100%. Basically played the game like I think people should. He was definitely part of the problem off the field though. He seems to have made a lot of mistakes and, apart from the financial woes, he was never anywhere very long as a player. Which tells its own story. I’d like to see him do well and properly turn his life around with Wales though. I think people can change and grow up (being a footballer must be a fucking weird life - good and bad). And he should definitely be thought of as someone for whom his time here was more good than bad. Much more so. He wants a fucking slap for some of the things he’s said since he left though. The fans here adored the little cunt.

Nailed my point precisely.

Some people want to blame Bellamy, some want to blame Dyer, some want to blame Souness, some want to blame Shepherd. They were all equally culpable IMO. They represented the club I supported and their combined behaviour was disrespectful to that crusade.

Common sense as usual mate. I think you nail Bellamy perfectly - on the pitch he did everything we need, brilliant player and a shithouse to the opposition. It's his off-field antics that I have issue.

I agree with TBD to an extent that Souness had likely marked his card before he joined, but I temper that by saying it was probably on account of the remit he was given by Shepherd.

IIRC Bellamy did a TV interview after the 2-2 draw at home to Norwich and publicly berated the club for coveting Wayne Rooney. He was absolutely within rights to have concerns about the potential of Rooney joining but it wasn't his place to get in front of a TV camera and voice them. I think that was the point where Shepherd had likely had enough of Bellamy and made dealing with the dressing room a condition of the incoming manager - wouldn't at all be surprised if that helped persuade him to go for Souness who had the reputation of not standing for shit in the dressing room.

Anyway, it's 20 years ago - consigned to history. Ask yourself this ... would you swap the Newcastle United of 2002-05 for the one of today? Absolutely no fucking chance - better owners, better manager, better players.

In all seriousness, I hope Leazes was still around for that cup win. He was fucking mental, but he would have loved that shit.

In fact I can picture him now, pouring one out for his homie Freddie Shep, smiling and blowing a kiss to the heavens.

No surprise to see him on there, telling it like it is. The conversion to Islam was more of a shock though

Not sure if that’s Leazes… 5 daughters? Works in oil, he’s away in the likes of Nigeria for months on end?…

Definitely not him, Leazes was way older than me and my fellow TT codgers.

That bloke could be son of Leazes though or pssessed by his ghost.
