peasepud 59
I'm not convinced accadacca is a Toon fan. I wonder where his IP address says he's from. Your mams house
Rob W 0
just ran a test on http://web.archive.org/web/*/toonstats.homestead.com/* saved the html page from Goalscorers detail and then opened it in EXCEL and it looks fine there are 120 pages but I'm willing to do them while I wait for the next set of pills in the Sandyford Sunshine Home Now can someone build that into a data base or sommat we can all access? Depending on how you make the excel doc, there should be some tools to pull data from excel to MySQL. I can host database and website, if it should be needed. I'm still waiting for that webcrawler to reconstruct the original website, but it's taking a bit longer than i assumed. Drop em into csv files and we'll create a database for them, I'll set up a toontastic one and give priviledges to those working on it so if anyone interested can PM me with details of what they can do/are willing to them we'll look to get it going again. Once its built then we'll pull some pages together and keep em updated. OK I'll build t ecsv files this wekend and PM them over to you
Rob W 0
Although the website lists says there are circa 120 files in fact I've only found 4 pages = circa 32 files About half of these look like they are front pages that you could click on (eg scoreres) and get a choice of "left-footed Irish centre forwards" and are only circa 9kb html there appears to be around 18 actual data files - i'll check them out this weekend
peasepud 59
This is the problem, the wayback project doesn't archive everything only a snippet of info at a point in time.
Rob W 0
I've found a way of getting to more of the data files - they are awesome!!! I'll pm you some examples this weekend - how do you like the csv's???
Guest Barrack Road
I've found a way of getting to more of the data files - they are awesome!!! I'll pm you some examples this weekend - how do you like the csv's??? There was a few sites and this might be one of them, where they showed every NUFC team in every game ever even with substitutions. Does that have that type of information, it really needs preserving. The old rivals site had them but that's now gone of course.

Rob W 0
Can't find his files for 1920-30, 1939-45, 1990-2000 seasons but have all the player and goal scorer stats to around 2007
peasepud 59
Fuck me these are good! Trouble is theyre going to take a bit of work to get them into a useable format as its not straight forward comma seperated data. A bit of work but not impossible, top work Rob man! peasepud 59
Any of you chaps send onto me when the work has been done? When the works done then hopefully we'll have a fully searchable database of all the data any of us can tap into. You're quite handy with Excel though arent you? Rob W 0
I've sent the csv and xls file to pud - there are about 8MB of data
peasepud 59
Yeah Im working on them at the minute, trouble is because theyre taken from the sites pages they're not in an ideal format, Ive managed to extract the match data from all the other stuff (such as the players, league positions etc) and should have that into a table later on today. The likes of appearances data is straight forward although ideally Id like to generate that based on each individual games data. What we'll then need to do is work out exactly what is missing and start working on getting that in there too. I assumed the xls files were just the same data as the csv's is that the case? Yes - I saved them first as xls and then converted them to csv For the latest matches since the series stopped we can use nufc.com I guess and a number of sites seem to list our 90's games 1920-30, 1939-45 might be tough...................... manc-mag 1
Where is accadacca with his prediction for next season more importantly? He was pretty much clairvoyant in the past even when virtually everyone to a man was shouting him down.
McFaul 35
I'm one of these sad cunts who enjoys reading about how we did before I was born, where we were in the league, why we were shite etc...and looking at those links, here have a look at this in better detail on here. http://nufc.com/html/1976-77.html http://www.footballstatisticsresults.co.uk...1_football.html Look at the results from 8th April against the mackems onwards. We chucked away some terrible points, if we'd had a mediocre run in we'd have been league champions in 1976! Ye live and learn, I tell you summik if that had've happened we'd be a different club today. Imagine that the toon league champions, in the late 70's second biggest natural fanbase in the country, Gazza, Waddle and Beardsley wouldn't have fucked off that's a fact. McFaul 35
77 it was actually year of my birth not 76, radge that we could've won the league and 12 month later were relegated.

Not sure we chucked away that many terrible points really - Leicester at home and away and Arsenal home would have given us 8 more points but we'd still have been 2nd on goal difference. I take the point though, hadn't realised we had come anywhere near a championship in the late 70s. Have you noticed how shite everyones away records are? Guest alex
Suppose we were a canny way behind since it was 2 points for a win like.
