I'm going out for a meal for about 4pm. I like all kinds of food except sea food....! There's a bunch of places really, but I'm being really indecisive today :) So, I need your help! :) Just somewhere within the city centre. Below is a list, so if you could name even just one of them, it would be great, but I'm sure it'll help other people too who might fancy a meal out somewhere.

- Chinese: Landmark, King Neptune, Anywhere on Stowell street really.

- French: Would love to know myself if there is anywhere.

- Greek: There's a place in the Bigg Market but I'd ask Alex.

- Indian: Vujon and Rasa on the quayside (the latter being excellent for vegeterians).

- Italian: If you want Pizza consider a chain like Pizza Express, Zizzi or Strada. Otherwise maybe Azurri, Cafe Vivo or Panni's.

- Mexican: Blue Coyote has special deals before 6.30.

- Thai: Would like to know myself.

Also Cafe 21 is canny if you want posher food.

Only been once (and it was ages ago) but that Greek place (Simply Greek?) wasn't much cop imo. Dabizas popped in for a coffee while I was there though.

I went for a Chinese at "Orchid" on the quayside recently and the food was excellent.

Thought everything about the place was light years ahead of anything on Stowell Street.

Also there's a great Asian Fusion (Vietnam, Cambodia, etc) called "Barn Asia" in Waterloo Square (opposite Discovery museum) which is excellent too.

If anyone ever finds themselves in Durham check out "Zen" for the best thai food anywhere in the North East.
