ajax_andy 0
Aspers in the Gate. Cool. What makes it better than the other casino's if you dont mind me asking? Also is there a minimum bet that you can place on each game? I've never been to a casino before so have no idea about these kinds of things. Never been to Aspers but I used to go to Stanley's and Grosvenor alot, suggest of those two that Grosvenor is more 'wife' friendly. I wouldn't worry about the minimum bets etc, just don't be afraid to ask. The important but is knowing how to play the games otherwise it can get expensive. Grosvenor is baddddd, Aspers is the best bet (that wasn't intended!). Again, minimum bets depends on the game, just ask. Has anyone been to any of them and which one's the best? Have you tried emailing Derek Llambias? I understand he has some expertise in this area. peasepud 59
Circus (formerly Stanleys) is the best imho, although it depends on what you want I suppose, Aspers is more trying to be the Las Vegas style, showgirls, entertainment etc while Circus and Grosvenor are more aimed towards the gambler. I find Aspers to be too full on, too many people all just standing around drinking rather than getting down to the actual playing of the tables. tbf though thats probably what you're after to take the missus to for a first time. Yeah that sounds pretty cool tbh as were not planning on spending big bucks so I guess a place where its not totaly geared towards the gambling might be best. Cheers for the advice! I know the basic rules of blackjack and roulette seems fairly simple but thats about it unfortunately, so reckon i'll stick to those games mainly... oh and the slots too probs. Matt 0
Aspers has all minimum and maximum bets on LCD displays on each table. Weekends is typically £5 minimum for blackjack and even roulette bets though there are cheaper ones during the week. Whatever you are planning to gamble on near-even stakes (red or black on roulette, or blackjack) take at least 20 times that stake, otherwise you will be going home empty handed. That's something I noticed moving down south, a chip at Stanley was worth 25p. At my local casino now it's £1. Having said that I used to go to Stanley's on a Monday for the free breakfast (Good times *sighs*), so it could well be to do with the day of the week!! You are a lot more careful when each chip is worth a quid, whereas I used to create the NYC skyline when they're only 25p.

To be more accurate they served a fry up from about midnight til about 3am on a Tuesday morning. I used to work until about 11pm, then Monday night at Legends or Julies then off to the Casino. Good times *sigh*
