Dont always agree with him but he makes plenty of provocative comments which is what its all about Its a joke that anyone gets banned from a message board for fuck sake. PC gone mad? The guy's one of us, a Toon fan, the sort of bloke you could probably have a good craic with down the pub - this banning has given this place a bit of a church coffee morning feel for me. Alright, not totally but you've got to admit it is a bit sad though that it was deemed needed, most people take any offensive remarks from Stevie with a pinch of salt. The forum may not have dived to the extent of a church coffee morning just yet but this sort of thing doesn't help to keep a hearty, piss-taking 'feel' to the place. I mean I wouldn't think a football fan forum is the sort of place I'd expect to find the sort of people who pride themselves on high-brow humour - I've got this image in my head of the Footlights College team from the University Challenge episode of the Young Ones running this place now. On a personal level I found his style at times hilarious, but mostly it was just the word cunt surrounded by geographical insults and it fast became tedious. If he could get over himself there's no doubt he'd have been a good lad to have a laugh with. But there's just no way he'd have been a bloke I'd want a drink with in the pub. In fact he's exactly the kind of bloke that makes me cringe at the local. This isn't a character assassination and I'm sure there are many worse things that could be levelled at me, but I'm just saying that, personally, I thought he was a boring angry narrow minded man and I won't miss his posts. Do you think it's socially acceptable for a member to say to someone, who they believe to be Muslim, that they hope they die at the Hajj? Before you answer that question can you consider the fact that we've been approached by a company looking to sponsor us which would secure the future of the site. I read that with a sinking feeling. Toontastic as we all know and love would change forever. I used a forum once for several years similar to this where posters were allowed a fair amount of freedom. But once they had a couple sponsers in that was that! No Swearing at all. No piccys. No sex talk infact nothing with anything 'juicy' in at all. The forum became sterile and bland with god awful banners everywhere. Craig when you say it would help to secure the future of the site, is that all about money? The laws of the land don't apply here. For example porn is legal, but generally gets removed. Anyone posting a stream of strong pornographic images would be banned too I'd have thought.
