phone number help

quick question people, just moving into a house, it has a landline but we dont know the number, the estate agent has no idea either!!! can you dial a number from the phone which then gives you the number? i'm sure this was possible a couple of years ago??

tried both but the phone just accepts incoming calls, operator number not working either!!

 

house has been empty for a few months and the landlord is away all week, I NEED FOOKING TINTERWEB!!!

BT might be able to do a line trace if you call them, not sure if they'd get much from a phone only receiving incoming calls though.

Ring BT and ask them if they provide a line to the address. If they don't, call Virgin Media instead. Good chance one of them provides the line (even if they don't provide the service). They should have the full details of the line.

 

BTW - if you know it accepts incoming calls because you've received them - ask them what number they've called

BT have a GIS system with all lines in it - getting them to look is another issue

That’s a goggled number. However I'm sure there is a number you can dial that tests the line and tells you the number.
