The latest OFGEN report points out that we're running down our nuclear power stations and eliminating the coal fired ones just as N Sea gas runs out

Renewables just can't fill all the gap

The power companies won't invest serious cash now - hits their share prices and bonuses for something that will happen when everyone currently running them is retired after all

Looks like we'll have to go back top a State sponsored Strategic Authority to either MAKE them invest or build the new power stations itself ;):D

i think renewables will fill the gap, new tech has been developed which gives the ability to store 40-80 kWh (about the amount an averge NA family homes uses/day) in your basement in two batteries that are the same size as car batteries

can't seem to find the article i read it in.........

i'll keep looking

No - I am concerned - the problem is one of short term incentives against long term needs, the planning system against new installations, energy security v. GAZPROM

Not easy to find solutions but if we don't we'll all be out of electricty
