I get my food shopping online because its more conveniant for me. It means I can get sessions in at the gym etc. When some people ask what I did and I say "Oh Im waiting for my Tesco delivery" I get the response

"Ooo arent you posh"

Errrr why?

indeed, technically it's probably cheaper or around the same cost as driving a few mile and back to your local.

Definitely a shit load cheaper shopping online. I find that the fact I'm not trailing wor lass and a 4yr old around the supermarket saves me a fucking fortune in 'ooh, we'll try this, ooh, we'll try that ...' shit that probably puts £20 on the bill. I just buy what we fucking need.

Ocado

Now THAT I did used to consider as posh until I worked out it wasn't costing me that much more and their unique way of dispatching stuff meant that there was less chance of ending up with the shitty perishibles.

I'd never do it unless I was stocking up on tinned goods or booze or something that's difficult to carry, but then I live 15 minutes' walk from a Tesco and a Sainsbury's, and two pairs of hands is enough to drag a fortnight's shopping back home. If I was somewhere less supermarket-friendly and I didn't have a car, I'd definitely consider it, even at the expense of not being able to inspect the fruit and veg before you buy it etc. etc. Around here, though, it really is pure laziness.

Did a 'big shop' via Tesco Online recently. We must have got about thirty quids worth of stuff that needed eating by the next day. As has been said, save for the tinned stuff it can be pure Russian roulette.

I shop online each week and this is by biggest bugbear. (what an odd saying?).

Like this week wor lasses hummus had a use by date of the same day the shopping came (vile stuff anyway) and some chicken thing had one day to go.

'Posh' just means 'costs more' in Yorkshire, doesn't it?

Aye I was in that boat until someone suggested Ocado. Might be a little bit more pricey but it's selected from a distribution warehouse so your stuff is selected before its even put on a lorry to get to a store. Also easier to deal with if you do get something that's shit
