These are brilliant and new mums love them (all you expectant dads take note)

Its a first year or first five year record book that they fill in with lots of details that can be passed onto the child later in life. Includes things such as;

Birth weight, first bath, first words, photos etc etc

The baby record book and photo frames are a nice idea, but its very probable someone else has bought them those. As you've got some baby gifts, why not get them something totally for themselves? Leisure voucehrs are good as they normally have a long expiry date (we had some for Christmas and they don't expire untill 2012) This means they have them to use up for a treat for themselves when they get five minutes on their own! Your friends could use them for their first time out for a treat, you can spend them at eating places, hotels, Spas, Theme parks and so on.

A voucher for a break or for their favourite restaurant is ideal and would be hugely appreciated.

Yeah you can use them in Marriott and Hastings hotels, Premier inns. Lots of eating places, Beefeaters, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and so on. I used some of ours recently for a weekend break and a meal in a Table Table pub, very nice gift!

Don't suppose they've registered anywhere have they?

Are people seriously doing that nowadays.

I don't understand this at all, they've had a kid, buy it an outfit, fair enough but anything more isn't needed imo. We'll be having fucking baby showers next.

When a couple of my friends have had babies I bought them one of these figurines. You can get them in Collectables or in a lot of high street shops and there are loads of different ones. They're canny presents and I always end up getting them when I don't know what else to get :)

Full range is at www.willowtree.info/products/figurines

I have bought a couple of those over the years too. They are beautiful, but I rekon as a gift females appreciate them more than males.
