Ketsbaia 0
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...z.html?ITO=1490 Newcastle are on the brink of signing Honduras international defender Osman Chavez on loan until the end of the season. The Championship club are the latest in a long line of clubs to be linked with Chavez, who was previously on trial at Celtic, Tottenham and Sunderland earlier this season. Ipswich boss Roy Keane offered him a trial and Blackburn were also keen to have a look at him. But the 25-year-old flew to Tyneside on Wednesday and was expected to undergo a medical in time to sign before the transfer window closes on Monday. Chavez, who plays for Platense, missed his country’s 3-1 win over the USA last week with an ankle injury but has confirmed he is now fully recovered. Platense president Eduardo Ramos said: 'Newcastle have been interested in Osman for some time and he is keen to play in England.' 1892 0
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcas...703-25705226/2/ Reports today from Honduras that Hughton was about to sign Honduran international defender Osman Chavez were played down by the United boss. The Platense defender had been tipped by his club president Eduardo Ramos to make the switch to Newcastle after jetting out to England in search of a move. Hughton said: “There’s nothing in that. But I’m certainly hopeful of bringing in a couple more before the deadline finishes, that’s for sure. “The areas we’re still looking at are at centre-half, because of the cover we need, and a centre forward.” Hughton missed out on the signing of Leon Cort from Stoke, with the brother of ex-Toon striker Carl joining Burnley.
