What's this about Smith strangulating Beye?

Couple of people have mentioned going back for Beye if we go up.

I was told last night there's no chance because at the end of last season Smith took charge of the dressing room and asked every player that didn't want to stay and fight for promotion to say so. Beye admitted he'd be off and this rather annoyed Smith who'd been reading in the paper how much Beye loves the Toon and wants to stay so he went for him and tried to throttle him.

Is that Bollocks?

They reckon it was Malcom Macdonald told the story.

Was it on the Legends?

He told my uncle he told all the players who didn't want to be here to fuck off. Too much influence if true (especially given how shite a player he is).

Sounds about right and goes with what Tayls and Smith himself were saying after we got ridden in that pre-season game.

I've heard that, but it was the Leyton Orient game and not last season.

I quite like the fact Smith cared so much he nearly killed some cunt ;) Saying that the same could be said of any tackle he makes.

I think it's believable, especially the Orient game where our 'best' players couldn't give a fuck anymore, and I think Beye would have been one of them tbh, as he did leave soon after the Orient game (I think).
