Wayne Routledge signs

Bags of pace, shite attitude and poor final product.

At least he's fast though, and proven he can't play in the Pl.

Also, who?

Couldn't disagree more, I think this is a really really good buy, he was tremendous when he first burst on to the scene at Palace, was quickly snapped up by the yids but Lennon's progress and a serious injury set him back and he was loaned out. Here this season I'm not just saying this but he is a player that stuck out for me of nearly anyone in this division, kept on running wide kept the ball well, was quick, this is a good signing. I think this buy has been made purely cos he thinks Pancrate is shite but we'll see.

A positive signing for Newcastle without a doubt at this stage in our development, genuinely pleased.

I remember him at Palace. Very exciting prospect.

Aside from spurs he's been at Pompey, villa and fulham and done f-all at any of them.

Hope I'm wrong about him, however as we're crying out for pace.

He's the best player I've seen at St James' this season and honestly I am not just saying that.

Where the fess did this come from?

I’m pleased with it though, we’ve been lacking balance and drive, hopefully with two *wingers* we can actually get some more balls onto the bonces of our lumbering forwards.  Might mean at home we can play with a little more of the freedom that’s afforded to us by the bad guys parking the bus... and away from home we can still grind out 1-0s by bludgeoning the opposition into submission.

Yeah, he’s not the best player, nor does he have the best attitude, but hopefully the team ethic we have will cover (or alter) his lack thereof.

Any idea of the fee?

That's the package over three years. Fee undisclosed.

This is the first big club he's played for, he'll realise he'll never get a better chance, and his attitude with QPR this season has been excellent. Young players often have a bad attitude think they're billy big bollocks, particularly black southern players for some reason, but I have faith.

Suggests Hughton thinks Pancrate is as shit as I think he is.

Am I right in thinking he would have trained Routledge at Spurs?

Possibly, aye. Quite pleased with this signing like. I didn't think I'd be saying that any time soon. Guaranteed to be shit now I've said that like.

He was the Bostock of his day iirc at Palace. :)

That's possibly the most punchable face I've ever seen

He's got a bit of the Dyer about him I reckon.

Permacrock?

:)

Nippy dribbler with attitude, diamond earing and taken a few career injuries.

Hope for the best. I really like the look of him tbf, as Alex says he looked good for QPR.

Fron the Boro forum - "Nice to see how the Jawdees have kept their interest in him quiet and then completed the deal for him very quickly, unlike us who have been linked with him for weeks and done sweet fa." :):D

"Not even a big buy could raise my spirits now.

Routledge has been very indifferent this season, but selling your best players sets a dangerous precedent and displays above all a complete lack of ambition.

The only thing I can cling on to was that it was £3m+ and all of that goes into buying a new player, a better one."
