Besty 4
Yesterday my laptop got the blue screen of death while I was on it, I didn't get a chance to read the info because the system restarted. I tried to load it back up but now it doesn't go past the Vista loading screen with the bar going across the screen. I've tried safe mode which does the same, and the 'repair mode' you get to choose and that does the same. So today I got a Vista disc to format the laptop, it loads the data off the disc but it goes straight back to the loading screen with the bar going across the screen! I honestly have no idea how to sort it out so any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Besty.
Christmas Tree 4814
Like you I've had this problem over the years on various machines. I've also wasted quality time fucking around getting irate. Much easier to nip down to the local independant computer shop in the morning, pay them the standard £35 quid and pick it up all shiny and new a few hours later. Better than ruining your weekend trying to save a few quid.
Besty 4
It's pissing me off like, think it might be the hard-drive just being buggered. Just tried to run repair and got: "The procedure entry point RpcRaiseException could not be located in the dynamic link library RPCRT4.dll"
khay 10
Sorry by load the data off do you mean that it backed up all your data and then re-installed vista?
Besty 4
Nah, when you put the Vista disc in and try to boot off it, it says it's loading the data off the disc, then it goes to the windows loading screen and nowt happens.
khay 10
Hard to say really. What I would normally do at work is take the hard drive out and put it in a caddy get the data off and re-image or put a new disc in. Are any of your mates IT savy? Might just be best taking it into a local shop. Sorry I know that does not help.
Besty 4
I just think it's weird because I can't format, go in safe mode (even command prompt), debugging mode, repairing, last known working config, etc. Got to be the hard-drive. khay 10
Is it making any weird noises?
