snakehips 0
What's this guy like? He was interviewed on talksport. His loan to Pompey is coming to an end and he's looking for somewhere else. He says he just wants to play football, 'appy 'arry the cheeky chappie has told him to go somewhere to get games. When the guy on the radio asked 'what about big clubs potentially coming into the Prem (the other dude then said Newcastle)' O'Hara described us as a 'massive, massive club' and didn't rule us out. Thoughts?

The Fish 11037
just to strike out on my own I like the kid and think he's a decent idea for us.
OTF 7717
I'd have to disagree with you there The Fish. I think he's a solid option for us, one that should be looked into. The one thing against us moving for him is that he just signed a new 4 year contract for Tottenham, so if we wanted to subsequently buy him it wouldn't be cheap. I'm not convinced that we'd be able to give him a lot of football here, or that we should give him a lot of football here given that he's likely to only be a short term loanee. Lets not forget that he's with Portsmouth at the minute and they're sitting dead last. They do have an option on him for the remainder of the season, however with their money problems they may not wish to pursue it (at this moment it seems it will be a miracle if they don't get relegated). Andrew 4945
thing is hes always looked like a capable and well rounded midfield player in the PL and this league can make those capable players of the PL look like the best players in the division *cough* nolan *cough*

O'Hara is a better shout than Beckford except that we'd be signing Beckford permanently and O'Hara would only be on loan. I wonder what sort of money it would take to get him on a permanent basis. Probably way too much.

I don't know though, spurs dont need him and they're not exactly struggling for money plus if it was between a loan for ohara and buying beckford id still prefer a loan for ohara I tihnk he'd make more of a difference to our team and, with a little sense, hopefully a future fee could be agreed as part of the deal you never know with this lot though, its looking more and mroe likely we're getting beckford and this ohara stuff is pure speculation but we get nothing from the club nowadays so who knows what could happen
tinofbeans 91
good left back, but far better going forward, could be an option to play infront of enrique. can also play centre mid...

I've not seen a great deal of him, but he didn't seem to be express pace (perhaps similarly paced to Milner). Seemed best suited to a central role - one area where he might find it hard to crack a spot with the popularity of Smith and Nolan.

Seemed best suited to a central role - one area where he might find it hard to crack a spot with the popularity of Smith and Nolan. thing is, he has better delivery than our pacey wingers and will get himself into the position to cross it, can find a pass on the ground to when needed he has as good a final midfield product (and a rocket of a shot) as we're likely to be able to attract o'hara left to make the crosses, jonas on the right, on his better foot for when he does get the crosses in instead of left or cutting back and that then frees guthrie for the middle Edited January 6, 2010 by Andrew

Guest Stevie
Good player but a total tool by all accounts. I know a few people who know him personally in Kent and they all say he's the biggest sleeze ever towards women. An ugly version of Kieron Dyer I think, he's got potential though.
