luckyluke 2
I'm getting a little fed up of reading 'I hope my flight is alright' in facebook updates. You chose to fly at this time of year, if that's problematic due to the weather, well, tough shit.

Meenzer 15871
I do take the point about people complaining about the cold if it isn't affecting their lives in any way other than the fact that it's cold, though. That's what jackets and hats are for.
luckyluke 2
We do seem to be the only country that gets surprised when it's colder in winter and warmer in the summer. Headline news ffs. I'm getting a little fed up of reading 'I hope my flight is alright' in facebook updates. You chose to fly at this time of year, if that's problematic due to the weather, well, tough shit. Yeah, fuck people for living abroad and wanting to come home for Christmas. They should walk if they're that bothered. I take your point, although if you live abroad you have to accept travelling back at this time of year isn't always going to be smooth. However most (if not all) the ones I've seen are for people going on holiday for Christmas rather than coming home. I'm sorry, I should really quit facebook, if people aren't moaning about being on-call or on nights then they're moaning about something else. Miserable gits. Not like me. Meenzer 15871
Aye, most of the time I'm on Facebook it's either (a) to moan or ( to comment on other people's moans. As for the flight thing, I'm just bitter on missing out on a weekend's boozing with friends because Easyjet had three days of cancellations into London while most other airlines were largely unaffected. You get what you pay for, I suppose. Anyway, it's not just the Brits - one Christmas on the way back from Frankfurt to Newcastle I was stuck on a KLM plane at Schiphol for three hours because they had to de-ice an airport's worth of planes... with one de-icing machine. Genius.
luckyluke 2
It's a good job that the BA staff were prevented from taking their additional Christmas Holiday otherwise there'd have been hell on.

One of the worst things about being in my trade is the amount of friends you have on facebook also working in said trade who moan constantly that they're on-call/on nights/at work at a weekend. It's not like they didn't know they'd be doing this before they fucking started uni or anything. I have a strict 'Luke likes this' policy for such status updates. I admit to having a chortle when their strike got called off. After seeing the jubilation (secret filming of their meeting) on the announcement of their strike (no doubt the thought of guaranteed Christmas off), I couldn't help but feeling chuffed at the thought of them being highly pissed off when they learned they would have to 'work' as normal. Aye, same with me. Firstly because they reckoned it had nothing to do with getting at the general public (aye, that's why you chose Xmas I suppose) and secondly when I found out they were striking for what amounts to fuck all anyway. What's BA supposed to do when it's losing a fortune?
