wykikitoon 21504
Ive got a bunch of miserable mates who wont go watch filmd, but I wanna watch Harry Brown and Law Abiding Citizen, but want to see them at the flicks. Thinking of just going on me todd. Anyone else do this?
Meenzer 15871
I know some people frown upon it, but I quite enjoy it if the film is right. Particularly if it's during the day or late at night when you don't feel quite so spectacularly friendless.

ewerk 31596
I've done it before when working away by myself but wouldn't do it at home, though it wasn't too bad actually. Though as it happens I also want to see HB and LAC, if you can make it over my way by 7.30 you've got yourself a date Edited December 9, 2009 by ewerk
Happy Face 29
Wish I had time to go on my own more often. I got a free ticket to Harry Brown and went to that on my own a couple of weeks ago. Only been to a couple of others that no-one else fancied in the past. 4 weeks, 3 months, 2 weeks, 1 day (or whatever it's called) and Gosford Park. When I was a kid I thought people on their todd were saddo's, but now I'm older I understand that I can like things that gangs of my mates don't necessarily. Renton 22424
Might do it if I was working away and had an afternoon or evening to kill. Cinema is ultimately a solo activity anyway so who cares if you are alone? Eating alone I absolutely hate however.

Can't remember how long you were in HH, was the English-language cinema on the Steindamm ("City" I think it was called) still around when you first bowled up? It disappeared between the end of my year abroad in mid-2000 and my triumphant return in early 2004, but it got me through the aforementioned traumatic time with a fine diet of South Park, the Sixth Sense and all points inbetween. snakehips 0
I've been to the flicks on me tod before. Mind you, it was during the day (which I find is the best time to go to the movies) so there were only a few folk in as well.
Smooth Operator 10
I normally go with a date but once i've pulled the obligatory cock through the bottom of the popcorn tub i'd say on average 90% of the time i end up watching the rest of the picture on me jack jones. Tom_NUFC 0
Done it once to kill some time. I was meant to be meeting a friend, but he text me to say he was going to be delayed by a couple of hours about 15 mins before I was due to meet him. Too much of a hassle to go back home and then go out again, so I went to the cinema. I felt very paranoid about watching a film by myself.

ajax_andy 0
Going to the cinema on your own just confirms that you're a sad and lonely person. If you decide to do it a small peice of you will die inside. You wont realise until its too late, but once its happened there will be no going back... you'll forever know deep down that you had to go to the cinema on your own, and suddenly doing other things like eating in a restaurant and drinking in the pub on your own wont seem such a large step away. Its like a gateway drug for being alone and before you know it you'll be 80 years old and your whippet "Jack" will be the only true friend you've ever had. Also just remember that the moment you step in the cinema on your own everyone will be looking at you and thinking "oh my god what a saddo!!! He mustn't have any friends and is definately a pervert". Before you know it kids will run up to you in the street shouting "pedo!!!" before running away in a hyterical state. A small child will say to its mother.... "Mummy what's a Pedo?" and the mother will just look you in the eye, point at you and say "that is son... thats a Pedo just there". So I guess unless you want to be a lonely old pedo then I would advise staying at home and watching some porn. Hope that helps Edited December 11, 2009 by ajax_andy

Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
I've never done it but don't really see anything wrong with it. That's a bit more of a step than going to see a film. Where did you go, and why did you go by yourself? Was it a holiday that your mates weren't interested in or are you a sex tourist? The first time was in April, I'd planned on going with a friend but the ringpiece forgot about it and booked a holiday with his girlfriend two weeks before we meant to go. The second mainly arose from having fixed leave and Freddy Shepherd-esque planning by myself. I had leave to use up before December, all of my friends were busy and my girlfriend had arranged to go on holiday with her friend before we started going out. So I went on holiday to Athens by myself for four days. I quite like city breaks by myself, even when I've gone on holiday with other people I've enjoyed walking around a different city alone. I wouldn't want to go for much longer though.
