Parky having lived in a country like Germany. What do you think makes a collective national ethic? Why do you think your average German, in your own words, is methodical and mechanical, and what makes people from our country interesting, innovative and energetic? I've not spent enough time in Germany to judge the people really, I know they like a good drink. but the bruv in law works in Frankfurt a lot and he seems to think every stereotype on the Germans is spot on.

A strange race with some good points, but many bad. The Germans are reasonably fair at business and if they get to know you ( takes 2/3 years) they will trust you and stick with you, this is a kind of default positon - especially with the older Germans. Working with them actually means something, as they are hard to please and always on the look out for mistakes...You really have to deliver a kind of quality in the interactions that isn't really required in England...The reason it isn't reaquried at home is that we don't really believe in the spirit of the interaction, just the material gain. The Germans on the other hand have a quasi-spiritual relationship with business ( bit like the Japs) that makes doing business with them tricky but rewarding if things go well. They also aren't shy about wanting to learn and will question you to death about every little thing so they can understand it better...Whereas in England as long as the contract is signed everyone puts the kettle on.

I had very high hopes of the Krauts when I moved there, with my background - two German girlfriends a German Nanny and a WW2 hobbyist ( ), I had a feeling I could learn a lot from them. I had the impression that they were confident and strong willed, but actually the reverse is the case, something has happenned there that has left German manhood a shadow of its former self (I call it holocaust dust).

More later.....

I work with a few Germans and surprise, surprise they're just like evryone else - a range from sound to cuntish.

I can see some stereotypical traits in some of them but that's just accentuated by knowing they are German.

They aren't like any other race on earth.

Trying to reletavise them is where we went wrong in the past. The are very different to any other Europeans and properly motivated are jaw droppingly deadly. They stopped the excellent Roman army in its tracks in the Black Forest.

It's interesting I think how different nationalities footballing styles seem to mirror their attitudes and personalities.

The Germans as long as I've known them play methocial, efficient, boring football, even their league is like this. Spanish flambuoyant, exuberant, easy on the eye, French, underachievers, white flag wavers, lack of heart, English, all action, playing with the heart not the head. Scotland - shite.

Associateing Germanic tribes with modern day Germans is a bit daft - those tribes would have included Angles and Saxons who are just as linked to modern Britains.

I've met a fair few abroad on holiday and stuff and they've always been nice and polite almost to a fault. Even to the extent where they'd speak English in front of me if they were talking to each other so as not to be rude which made me a bit embarrassed about my own lack of language skills / laziness in that regard. I've had the odd 'humour bypass' moment I suppose although I'm so fucking sarcastic that I get that anyway with people who don't know me. I've never actually been to Germany and I've only really met the younger generation though.

Recent research has shown that the Saxon element who came over are very much exaggerated. Our genetic make up of many of us is apparently 75-95% Basque.

Same study thought the genetic make-up of the whole of the British Isles were virtually identical if it's the one Chez posted a while back iirc.

Yes but the ancestors of the Saxons etc came from the same Ice Age refuges as the Celts who originally populated Britain (in Basque areas as you say)

Trying to genetically separate European "tribes" is generally pointless - post Ice Age we're all of a muchness.

Never said it didn't. There is a race memeory in Germany that the British could learn from....Eroded and flumoxed as we are by a few layers of distilled beauracracy. The history of modern man (especially Europe) is short...Not much has changed. You might be one of these people that go around with their antennae bagged up and stagnant...I'm not. The world is still the same as it ever was.

Filth peddled by your masters. If you are an intelligent wide awake person, as soon as you travel you should be aware of 'difference'.

Recent cultural differences are fine and I do recognise them - "race memory" and Genetic tribalism is bullshit.

In terms of respect, how would you rank the German attitude towards the following 6 countries Parky, USA, Russia, France, Italy, Britain, Poland.

People's stupidity does not make "facts". It should be beaten into every kid in the world that "race" is a nonsensical concept.
