Rob W 0
Looking at the stats it reminds you just what a tough place the Championship is - we've been playing up a storm and yet we're still 4 wins short of the 52 points that marks the relegation boundary If we say 86 points to get automatic promotion that's another 44 points = 15 wins. If we win EVERY game we won't get there until start of March..................

Guest alex
We've been pretty ordinary yet we're well clear of 3rd. I'd say it's proof of what a myth it is that the Championship is a really tough division. The reason it's competitive is that all the teams are crap. I've been surprised at just how shit this division is, we are strolling it despite rarely at any point looking impressive. Theres some games where i watch Enrique and think he could probably get a result on his own! But i've been really surprised at the fact pretty much no teams have been tough/hard or got in our faces and roughed us up as everybody said they would. I'd say in most games we've dished out more than the opposition if anything. So not only is it a shit division it also seems to be a nice one as well! Tom 14013
We've been pretty ordinary yet we're well clear of 3rd. I'd say it's proof of what a myth it is that the Championship is a really tough division. The reason it's competitive is that all the teams are crap. I've been trying to tell this to a Nottingham Forest fan and he just doesn't get it. He called me a ''deluded geordie, who thinks his team is still in the premiership'' . The further we get through this league the more we see it's lack of quality, the devil is in the detail (house!) and if you look at our 11 clean sheets and the amount of chances some teams need to score past us it's proof enough! Chopra and Ameobi are two of the best strikers in the division for fucks sake! It may sound arrogant but it's certainly not deluded,in terms of quality this league is closer to league one than the premier league!
Jusoda Kid 1
It's horrendous, no wonder teams look abroad for players as I can't really say I've seen any promising young english players in this division that couyld make the step up. That Yeates for Boro looked a tidy player mind.
Happy Face 29
Who was that kid who maintained we'd walk it from day 1? To think of the shite you all gave him. Mind I think we're spunking on our chips a bit soon given the christmas program is yet to come and our problem isn't the quality of the first team, which hasn't been tested, but the quality of the squad which will be asked a lot of soon. NJS 4411
I remember how the Mackems started last time they went down before Keane arrived and I thought we'd struggle. I did harbour a fear that our squad shitness combined with the "cup final" factor would see us struggle and I thought of relegation. I still think we may struggle to keep up this level of result but it has to be said that the shitness of this league is absolutely staggering. JonGoodwyn 1
We're guaranteed to be in the top two at christmas - 2/5 wins and we'll be in the top two come the new year as well.
The Fish 10965
Takes a certain knd of pessimism to look at the team at the top of the table and be worried about relegation Hopefully we'll bring in one or two players to fatten out the squad. If we don't I'd be worried our team may be burning themselves out. It's feasible we lose Colo and Taylor to injury for three weeks and with them gone a back four with Kadar and Zurab in the middle doesn't fill me with as much confidence. Certainly going to contribute at times i think, and reading some comments from Swansea fans after that match they reckoned their team froze or were in awe of us as that first 30 mins is not how they'd been playing at all this season. ChezGiven 0
You know the phrase 'we dont play on paper' well i think this year that may not be wholly true. Not been to many games this season and i understand the atmosphere has been excellent in some games but i still dont see a 'white-hot' SJP being a factor this season. Drawing on the comments made by a few managers after they have played us, perhaps its who the squad are on paper that is giving us the psychological advantage. We all know that the players we have are decent on paper but that they dont perform in line with their reputation and heritage. However, if you were the Watford manager and are looking at our players you are going to see Deportivo, Real Mallorca, Villareal, Liverpool, Man U, PSG, Rangers, Villa, NUFC Premiership players, Bolton and Wigan. I think thats where we are gaining the advantage from perhaps in reference to the opposition being a bit intimidated. I guess a 40k plus crowd isnt harming that situation either. Guest Stevie
This is the easiest division we've ever played in, it;s not tough, nearly every team is beaten before they play us by their own mental state, we have never ever been in an easier division. In 1992, the opposition were much better than they are now, and we had a better side then. We'll be 20 points clear of third, and at least 8 above WBA. When we play Harper with Simpson, Taylor, Colo and Enrique ahead of him and Smith ahead of them teams in this division just can't break us down. Keegan's promotion team would have had a genuine chance at an unbeaten season in this current division and they'd have broken all records for points totals and goals scored, they'd also have hammered the current NUFC team as well! There are one or two getting ahead of themselves here. We were in equally as strong a position earlier in the season. We then went on a run when we didn't win a game in four and they started breathing down our necks again. However as has been said keeping the back four together is key to winning promotion. Rob W 0
what gets me when I look at the numbers is just how you have to keep up the standard week in week out - even beating a bum a week its another 15 games before we are pretty sure of promotion
