Happy enough to keep him.

No Beye but a very good player at right back. Free at the end of the season but i would happy pay a small fee in January (if money is forthcoming for transfers) to save him from going elsewhere.

More chance of Beye going to the Mackems imo. Burnt his bridges a bit here (not with the fans like). Simpson looks a decent player. Plenty pace which always helps.

Like we're in any position to want/expect any better.

This is the problem though, he couldn't get into a Blackburn Rovers side last year, in his favoured position, ahead of Keith Andrews(a limited centre mid).

We need to look a little further forward. There's not much point in signing Chopra/David Healy/etc who can get you promoted, but have proven they aren't PL calibre.

You're looking at it from the wrong perpsective though. Those are the sorts of players who might get us promoted the season after next.

I think we will go up this season. I know there's a long way to go, but we should have enough about us to finish in the top 2.

If we don't go up, then I see no reason why we can't just get another young right back on loan next season from one of the Premiership teams.

I was taking the piss, i.e. go up this year, go down next and do it all again the year after. If we're lucky.

Sorry. On a go slow today.

That Ryan Taylor sure is shit.

Actually, I've warmed to Ryan Taylor a bit but that's not saying much. Ignoring the should we/shouldn't we sign him argument, I think Simpson's different class at RB to him. R Taylor's decent in central midfield or on right in the Championship but he can't defend to save his life.

I'm liking the Simpson. Quite nippy and looks like he's good for the odd goal as well. Good age.

under sam allardyce, a man we know has a great affinity for playing people out of position for no real reason when there are more suitable players available

Is Andrews taller by any chance?

You fucking what? Who do you think you are, June Sarpong? We'll have no T4 speak on here thank you very much.

No, the annoying one. Not that I've narrowed it down any.
